The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles [Mormon]
Mormon Newsroom ^

Posted on 03/10/2012 10:25:58 AM PST by greyfoxx39

As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth.

He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3). Though sinless, He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He “went about doing good” (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow His example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come.

He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary’s cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth.

We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.

He rose from the grave to “become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20). As Risen Lord, He visited among those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His “other sheep” (John 10:16) in ancient America. In the modern world, He and His Father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith, ushering in the long-promised “dispensation of the fulness of times” (Ephesians 1:10).

Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote:

“His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:

“I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father” (D&C 110:3–4).

Of Him the Prophet also declared: “And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!

“For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—

“That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God” (D&C 76:22–24).

We declare in words of solemnity that His priesthood and His Church have been restored upon the earth—“built upon the foundation of … apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20).

We testify that He will someday return to earth. “And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together” (Isaiah 40:5). He will rule as King of Kings and reign as Lord of Lords, and every knee shall bend and every tongue shall speak in worship before Him. Each of us will stand to be judged of Him according to our works and the desires of our hearts.

We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.

We quite often see mormon FReepers make the claim that mormonism is "Christian". THIS is the cornerstone of the mormon claim to the title of "Christian"...as sworn to in testimony by the top leadership of the mormon church.

Here in black and white is the claim that Joseph Smith was personally visited by God and Jesus Christ. We have ONLY the words of Joseph Smith and these so-called "apostles" of the mormon church that God and Jesus appeared to Smith, and as evidence of the Christianity of mormonism.

Mitt Romney is in line to become another "apostle" in the sect's line of command. He has "sustained" the leadership of these men countless times in meetings, and approves of the above dogma.

Is this someone that would be any better than the present occupant of the WH?

Apologies for the messed-up view of the article. I think it is still readable.

Ronald Reagan could not have been an elder in my church but he was an outstanding president of the United States. Would Romney be any better than Obama? Only a total moron would not know the answer to that. Romney is far from my ideal candidate but he is not a Marxist desiring to destroy America. For that reason alone, hell yes, he would be better than Obama.

Office of First President & Living Prophet

November 1st, 2011

The message for this month is -

...to stay on our mantra: We ARE Christians!!

We've been taking a beating on the Internet - especially from those hateful ANTIs on FreeRepublic!

We MUST keep the media constantly informed of those things the world considers christian.

We must NOT allow our MORMONness to show thru, as it has gotten a really bad rap thru history - lord only knows why...

Compared to...

Acts 1:9-11

9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

People believed in faires, till the girls who made the claim said it was a fake.

People believed in THE AMNITYVILLE HORROR until the author said it was a fake.

People believed in the CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, till Eric Van Danegan was exposed as a fraud.

People believed Adam and Eve lived in Missouri.....Suckers. One born every minute.

Suckers. One born every minute.

"I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity" (Moroni 8:18).

"For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and in him there is no variableness, neither shadow of changing? And now, if ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who doth vary, and in whom there is shadow of changing, then ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who is not a God of miracles" (Mormon 9:9-10).

"Here, then, is eternal life--to know the only wise and true God. And you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves--to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done--by going from a small degree to another, from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you are able to sit in glory as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power." - King Follett Discourse

Moroni and Mormon describe God as immutable and unchanging. The KFD shows something else. How can Mormons believe that God is at the same time immutable and changing, that from all eternity he was as he now is, but he somehow evolved from a mere mortal?

If God evolved, Moroni and Mormon are wrong. If God didn’t evolve, the KFD and Joseph Smith is wrong. Which is it?

Romney

he is not a Marxist desiring to destroy America.
______________________________________________

According to Mormon doctrine the Constitution now “hangs by a thread”

When the inventor odf mo0rmonism Joey Smith first “prophecied” that something would happen to the CPTUS and the Mormons would have to take over the US government to save it and “restore” it, there were not any parts to the words that Mormonism would denounce or want to change..

Since the death of Joey Smith several Amendments have been made that Mormon religious doctrines disagree with...

1. Blacks are no longer slaves

2. Blacks are now American citizens

3. Black men have the vote

4 ALL women have the vote

5. Equal civil rights for blacks and women

None of these Amendments were part of the COTUS in 1844 when Joey Smith got himself killed by angry men he had abused..

ALL of these new parts were objectionable and still are in mormon doctrines..

These then are causing the Constitution to “hang by a thread and will need “restoring” and thrown out by the Mormon “elders” when they take over the US government..

Next the Oath of Vengence. Although the Mormon Oath of Vengence, an oath sworn in blood against the government of the United States was changed in 1927, the oath was still taught and accepted down to the 3rd and 4th generation..

only parts of the ceremony in the temple ceased..

When George Romney took the oath before 1927 when he was in his 30s, he swore in blood to teach that same hatred of the United States and overthrow of the government to his son, Willard mitt Romney

Willard taught that same anarchy to his FIVE sons,

and now those sons teach it to their children..

and it still is religiously valid according to Mormon doctrine for the next generation of Romneys also ...

When Willard Mitt Romney keeps on claiming “I believe in my Mormon faith. I believe in the faith of my fathers.” this oath is part of the “faith of his fathers”

Each Mormon “father” of Willard Mitt Romney from his ggg grandfathers down to his father George all swore their “faith” in that same damnably terrorist oath of Vengence...

and now Willard is agreeing with the “faith of my fathers”

also his fathers down to George all believed and or were part of the Mormon practice of polygamy..

Willard has yet to denounce polygamy as a relious practice for “godship” and “salvation” in the Mormon religion..

In fact Willard has yet to denounce any part of the religion of Joey Smith...

Irrelevant. Romney is not running for Pope. He's running for President and while I would prefer a president with religious views closer to mine, Romney is not going to run roughshod over the Constitution the way the current Marxist-in-Chief is doing.

Now, I'd prefer another GOP nominee to Romney, not because Romney is not Christian enough but because he's not conservative enough. However, if it comes down to Romney vs. Obama in the fall, I know Romney will be far more conservative than Obama, or will your hate against Mormons allow you to prefer more Elena Kagans and Sonia Sotomayors on the Supreme Court for the next ObamaCare or pro-life decision?

You may be forced to make such a decision in the very near future and if you tell me you'd prefer Obama then I question your conservatism.

The answer is not complex. it is just hard to accept that the original author of the Book of Mormon text was himself a retired minister trained in seminary and having lived a life preaching the Gospel. Rigdon and Smith took his writing and turned it into the means for one of the greatest scams ever perpetrated upon unsuspecting but seeking souls. But by their fruits (the life of Smith as prime example) we can know them. Joe Smith was a sexual predator of even married women. He was a peepstone liar and false prophet. The fictional book he used was written by someone who had vastly more familiarity with what the Bible says than Joe Smith ever understood in his short life of debauchery.

It isn't about prefering Obama...it's the reality that Romney will be as dangerous as Obama but you will never know what he's going to do or decide because voting for Romney is voting for his churches heirarchy which we know little about if anything....he will do and say what they want him to...dangerous hardly says enough.

Well no thanks, I'd rather fight an enemy I can see and know than those out of reach and hiding, whose agenda will be to take us into the Global community at breakneck speed...among many other agendas they will be moving. No I will not be voting for romney under any circumstances....if Newt doesn't win this Primary we're done no matter who else gets in.

From the Mormon article: As Risen Lord, He visited among those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His “other sheep” (John 10:16) in ancient America

So the Mormon "jesus" returned already, eh?

Who knew? (And the Mormons & Mormon entities behind the scenes kept that hidden for about 1800 years, eh?)

again, No he has not..

Willard Mitt Romney belongs to and agrees with a white supremist religion that is considerably equal to the Arian Nation in doctrine and history...

Not only that his chosen religion is also sexist and treasts women not better than Islam does...

The blacks and the women will have fun with Willie Mitty if he gets the GOP nod...

The Democrats want to be able to say that all Republicans are racist and sexist...

how better than to be able to say that we chose the racist sexist religious bigot Willard Mitt Romney to represent us..

Forget that he is a liberal pro-abortionist same sex marriage Democrat endorsing creep..

He has tried to pretend he is one of us Conservatives and that will backfire against us in November..

The black Obama V the white supremist Romney...

Can ya see the debates ???
