A person who has been married, and even though divorced, commits adultery in the eyes of the Catholic Church. Oops, I didn’t finish that — when they remarry they commit adultery.

I still don't see how God would hold something against a person over what their spouse did.

If a spouse left a marriage to pursue another relationship/affair and the person they left was innocent why would God say the innocent spouse committed adultury when they would remarry.

If a spouse of one of your grandchildren committed murder and was thrown in prison the rest of their life, your grandchild is supposed to never remarry?

The Christian faith's cornerstone is forgivness of sin's. So God is still going to never forgive these people even though they may have truly repented from having an affair and getting remarried. That just does not make sense.

morally the nanosecond the legally binding obligation begins.

if civil ceremony then there, if the marriage license is signed by the priest then there. whichever is first.

At whatever point you need a divorce court to break the marriage up.

I disagree about the sex part, it is called consummation, and an unconsummated marriage is not considered valid as far as I have experienced.

Agreed, there is no love test and you are not required to be emotionally in love with someone to marry them.
