My 95 year old mother and I are into the 19th day of dealing with a difficult case of the flu. Although we had flu shots as we do every year, the variety of flu we contracted must have not been protected by the vaccination. The fevers have been gone for over a week, but the cough just is not lifting. It's much less but the coughing just won't come to an end. My mother progressed to the beginning of pneumonia but that seems to be gone after treatment with antibiotics.
My mother has been to the doctor 3 times, and I have been twice.
But so far we have not been able to get completely finished with this flu.
We are asking for prayers that the flu will finish running its course and that we can start to get strong and well again.

Lord please put your Hand on MarilynBr and her mom..please relieve their bodies of this flu that’s taken hold of them. Please make them whole and well! In your Name, Amen
May HE grant this prayer request for you and your mom. Then many he allow you both after recovery enjoy the time granted you together peace and some yet nice times.
Sounds like the same thing my wife and I had. I got it first, and she got it a week later. It’s just vicious, but after more than three weeks, the fever, congestion and body aches have finally passed. However, we’re both still coughing our lungs out and have no energy at all. I waited it out, and she got prescription meds and steroids from a doctor, but there seems to be no difference in our healing rates. My sympathies to anybody who catches this bug. It’s one of the worst I’ve ever had.
My prayers offered to you and your dear Mom! God Bless you both. I had an especially bad case this year myself. The congestion in my lungs was terrible.

My prayers for healing.
Prayers up! I had the flu shot once, and I got the flu twice that year. Not only did I get it, but I got it so badd, it really affected my asthma. I generally have very mild asthma, but I experienced multiple attacks that time. It was frightening. I won’t even get the flu shot now.

Oh my, prayers lifted for you both! Years ago while visiting family, the eldest and I picked up a coughing type bug from the Grandpa, and gosh, it was so hard to beat.
Don’t know where you are, or what your weather is like, but if getting out daily into the sunshine isn’t an option, then you might find some Vitamin D3, Vit. C and even a little old CodLiverOil : / to be helpful.

Prayers up for you, MarilynBR, and for your mom, that the Lord may give speed to your healing with no residual coughs and a return of your comforts and energies.
Can you and your mother tolerate MEGA doses of Vitamin D3? (short duration) Resveratrol? Curcumin? NAC?
All available OTC, but given age, talk to MD and make sure not harmful interaction with prescriptions
I read of these as prophylactics/home remedies on a Flu pandemic site and have used them successfully to ward off illness for several years, especially the Vitamin D3
Praying for you Marilyn and your mom. I have heard of so many this year that have this vicious flu. May God's Healing Hand be on you and your mom.

Prayer BUMP
This is an update for everyone. Although the coughing has not come to a complete end, we are both feeling quite a bit better in that regards.
I’m regaining my energy. Mom is showing some improvement in strength. Her appetite is getting better but not quite back to normal yet. I’d appreciate prayers for that.
I’m hoping we will be well enough to go to church on Sunday. We haven’t been able to go in 3 weeks. I am missing it so much.
My Mom’s 96 birthday is on Saturday, but I think we will postpone celebrating it for about a week out.
Thank you everyone for your prayers. It really helps.
May both you and your mom be healed by the compassionate touch of the hand of Jesus Christ.
Prayers for both of you to recover from this bad stretch. I got a bad case of bronchitis, myself, in Vegas and it took months to get over it.
