Test the spirits! Test who you are! Test what you have learned! Test if it's you! GOD is waiting!

Every day let us pray and ask GOD to help us shave off the learnings of this world that has effected us and many that we love. Though we have to live in this world, we dont have to do the things the world has taught us. There are ways around all situations when GOD is the focus.

TOPICS: Catholic; Charismatic Christian; Ministry/Outreach; Other Christian
KEYWORDS: god; jesus; love; world
To all,

GOD BLESS US ALL!! GOD is a great GOD!! We can never be HIM, but we can try to be like HIM. We have learned to kill one another (spiritually, mentally, or physically). We have learned to judge, deceive, and manipulate one another through the various systems of the world that enforce the " GET YOURS" way of thinking!! Whether we want to or not, we are taught to love this world from a very young age. Our flesh is taught to, but not our hearts. What is great is that HE is a just GOD and knows our hearts. Slowly but surely, following CHRIST, worshipping, and listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit puts us where our heart truly is. I pray all seeing this has a heart that focuses on HIS LOVE!

Please pray the LORDS PRAYER and please read:

1 JOHN 2:15-17

It gets harder and harder to live life as a Christian. I suppose this is what we were warned about - what was coming prior to His return.

I know I fall short. I pray for forgiveness.

It’s like the old joke. God only gives us as much as He thinks we can handle. I just wish sometimes He didn’t have so much faith in me.

15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

More and more so I feel like I do not belong to this world.

Francis Schaeffer

The inward area is the first place of loss of true Christian life, of true spirituality, and the outward sinful act is the result.

Alphonsus Liguori

If you wish to strengthen your confidence in God still more, often recall the loving way in which He has acted toward you, and how mercifully He has tried to bring you out of your sinful life, to break your attachment to the things of earth and draw you to His love.

Select Alphonsus Liguori Quotations
Your God is ever beside you - indeed, He is even within you.
Alphonsus Liguori

Speak to Him often of your business, your plans, your troubles, your fears - of everything that concerns you.
Alphonsus Liguori

Who is there that ever receives a gift and tries to make bargains about it? Let us, then, return thanks for what He has bestowed on us. Who can tell whether, if we had had a larger share of ability or stronger health, we should not have possessed them to our destruction.
Alphonsus Liguori

Just as a mother finds pleasure in taking her little child on her lap, there to feed and caress him, in like manner our loving God shows His fondness for His beloved souls who have given themselves entirely to Him and have placed all their hope in His goodness.
Alphonsus Liguori

Ask those who love Him with a sincere love, and they will tell you that they find no greater or prompter relief amid the troubles of their life than in loving conversation with their Divine Friend.
Alphonsus Liguori

It is a great mistake, as we have already remarked, to be afraid of Him and to act in His presence like a timid and craven slave trembling with fright before his master.

GOD is great! No worries.

We have faith in HIM, and HE draws us nearer to HIM ( those HE wants). HE doesnt have faith in us, because that would mean HE needs us.

Never that one.

But HE helps us to understand HIM better and slowly helps us to unlearn the sins we have learned, acted on, and have spread to others.

Asking for forgivenss is great! AMEN!! Also, forgiving others, confessing sins you did against others, confessing HIS holy name, and doing your best to live according to HIS WILL is added with that forgiveness you mentioned.

Here are some passages to read, pray, and meditate on:

ACTS 17:24-25

24 ‘Since the God who made the world and everything in it is himself Lord of heaven and earth, he does not make his home in shrines made by human hands.

25 Nor is he in need of anything, that he should be served by human hands; on the contrary, it is he who gives everything — including life and breath — to everyone.

JOHN 6:44-46,65

44 ‘No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me, and I will raise that person up on the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets: They will all be taught by God; everyone who has listened to the Father, and learnt from him, comes to me.

46 Not that anybody has seen the Father, except him who has his being from God: he has seen the Father.

65 He went on, ‘This is why I told you that no one could come to me except by the gift of the Father.’

ISAIAH 38:16-17
16 The Lord is over them; they live, and everything in them lives by his spirit. You will cure me. Restore me to life.

17 At once, my bitterness turns to well-being. For you have preserved my soul from the pit of nothingness, you have thrust all my sins behind you.

Joel 2:13
13 Tear your hearts and not your clothes, and come back to Yahweh your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and he relents about inflicting disaster.

ACTS 15:8
And God, who can read everyone’s heart, showed his approval of them by giving the Holy Spirit to them just as he had to us.

JONAH 3:10
10 God saw their efforts to renounce their evil ways. And God relented about the disaster which he had threatened to bring on them, and did not bring it.

James 5:7-20

7 Now be patient, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. Think of a farmer: how patiently he waits for the precious fruit of the ground until it has had the autumn rains and the spring rains!

8 You too must be patient; do not lose heart, because the Lord’s coming will be soon.

9 Do not make complaints against one another, brothers, so as not to be brought to judgement yourselves; the Judge is already to be seen waiting at the gates.

10 For your example, brothers, in patiently putting up with persecution, take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name;

11 remember it is those who had perseverance that we say are the blessed ones. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and understood the Lord’s purpose, realising that the Lord is kind and compassionate.

12 Above all, my brothers, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or use any oaths at all. If you mean ‘yes’, you must say ‘yes’; if you mean ‘no’, say ‘no’. Otherwise you make yourselves liable to judgement.

13 Any one of you who is in trouble should pray; anyone in good spirits should sing a psalm.

14 Any one of you who is ill should send for the elders of the church, and they must anoint the sick person with oil in the name of the Lord and pray over him.

15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord will raise him up again; and if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.

16 So confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another to be cured; the heartfelt prayer of someone upright works very powerfully.

17 Elijah was a human being as frail as ourselves — he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell for three and a half years;

18 then he prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth gave crops.

19 My brothers, if one of you strays away from the truth, and another brings him back to it,

20 he may be sure that anyone who can bring back a sinner from his erring ways will be saving his soul from death and covering over many a sin.

Praise JESUS,

MARK 12:29-31

29 Jesus replied, ‘This is the first: Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one, only Lord,

30 and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.

31 The second is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.’

Praise Jesus!

Glad to see you posting again.

The Latin root of the word temptation is 'test'. I found so much temptation in the world when I lived on the coasts.

When I retired, we moved to south central Kansas to a Christian community -- all the difference one could ever imagine. Folks here are charitable and show genuine goodwill to each other. We're not affluent but we're rich in heavenly treasure.

God Bless

Hi Sal- I think you are looking at one aspect within the true christian family. Once we know among ourselves we do not have to test a spirit.

But let's not forget St John the Apostle's warning on testing the spirit it is my tagline. He tells us not believe every spirit/person. He tells us to test the spirit to see if it is from God.

Because of Deception from fallen angels we are to test spirits. This covers humans who proclaim Christian but are like the women I met who could not recite the Apostles creed or that Christ became human. Occultic types.

She was a friend's wife. She was a spell caster who declared that Jesus was one of many Gods. Then tells me she is a Christian. I had to challenge her by the Holy Spirit. So to cut to the chase she could not do it. She tried but an unseen force withhold her from declaring just stuttering and mumbling " there are many Gods" . Not like the movies with another voice exactly but a force nevertheless not allowing it.

Remember what St John reads.

Very Important to check new "believers."

1 John

"Believe Not Every Spirit, But Try the Spirits"

4:1 Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

4:2 By this is the spirit of God known. Every spirit which confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

4:3 And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus is not of God. And this is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh: and he is now already in the world.

4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome him.  Because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

4:5 They are of the world. Therefore of the world they speak: and the world heareth them.

4:6 We are of God. He that knoweth God heareth us. He that is not of God heareth us not. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

4:7 Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for charity is of God. And every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.

4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God: for God is charity.

4:9 By this hath the charity of God appeared towards us, because God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we may live by him.

4:10 In this is charity: not as though we had loved God, but because he hath first loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.

4:11 My dearest, if God hath so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us: and his charity is perfected in us. 4:13 In this we know that we abide in him, and he in us: because he hath given us of his spirit.

4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father hath sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.

4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in him, and he in God.

4:16 And we have known and have believed the charity which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity abideth in God, and God in him.

He has faith in you because your faith is in HIM - so you can’t fail. Rest in Him knowing all is well. Your faith is the faith He gave you! Think of any problem and compare it to The Almighty. He who is in you is greater than he who is in the earth! We don’t need to look for victory - HE IS THE VICTORY!!

AMEN! That’s great! Thanks for the encouragement and welcome back. I understand you completely on your move and comfortability.

GOD puts us in certain environments to show people the change HE does in our lives. In these environments we praise HIS holy name, spread His holy name, and show the love to others HE has showed us.

Many blessings to you, your family, all around you, and those you will meet in the future. May all people that encounter you see part of HIM in your faith walk.

It gets harder and harder to live life as a Christian.

Now you know a little of what the Jews have been through in just these past two millenia.
