Really? All I can say is that you believe some pretty unbelievable stuff.
Once the vehicle had sunk below the back doors the water pressure reached equilibrium.
The back door came open. Probably cause the driver was trying to get out.
He reached in and grabbed her.
The real miracle was no rescuers were drown!
Or else she squeezed through the back triangle.
The water caused a malfunction in the power window motor causing it to cycle. No miracle sorry...

I believe there is a God but don't think God is participating in these events.
Your point is valid....that question, or at least variations of it, has been asked for thousands of years.
Here is what comforts me. God had a perfect plan...man ruined it...God still has a plan but now because of the fall of man, bad things do happen in this world. How can I blame God for something man brought into the world?
Remember, God also stood by and watched while His own Son died on the cross but only to bring about a greater positive.
My faith is too weak to believe anything but that God does rule in the affairs of men.......if we let Him. I don’t know how long I have to live but God said He knows the number of our days and if He knows that...He knows the reason behind the number of days, many or few, and that’s good enough for me.
I don't think there's any "lucky" involved here.
Philosophers have always said how SHORT our life is--puff of smoke and all that. So, following that logic, it really ISN'T all about THIS life, but what WE do to insure, as best we can, our ETERNAL life.
Some Protestants believe that ALL that is necessary is TO BELIEVE in God's saving grace, that we really can't do much to save ourselves and you obviously believe that God is out of the room for our life. I believe in something in the middle of that.
I had God's plan explained to me once. It was explained to me like this.
We are like a little boy who sits on a low stool looking up at his mother doing needlepoint on a very large embroidery frame. From below all he sees are random threads hanging, no pattern, just nonsense.
The mother knows what she is doing. It doesn't do much good for her to explain her embroidery plan as the little boy sees what he sees.
It takes a leap of faith in his mother for the little boy to accept what she says.
God's plan is what it is. I know what I'm supposed to do and it's up to me and only me to do just that.
Occasionally God gives me a little, itty-bitty reward, just to let me know, I assume, that He is paying attention to every single, solitary detail of my very small, inconsequential (in the larger world context) life. I wanna end up in Heaven and I want that for all my friends and family...even our beloved dead pets.

I don’t know, this is a mystery when God chooses to take
someone.
I do remember from prophecy, God the Father sharing some are
taken because they would cause more harm. It would be better for me to share the message from Heaven so you can read it. I’ll look for it, I recall it was given to Lec of the Philippines.
Look what harm Hitler and Stalin did and they were not taken meanwhile that poor 6 month old baby in Indiana was killed in the tornado last month.
Face it, God did not save this woman.

November 16, 2007(Friday)
6:45 A.M.
Metro Manila
PHILIPPINES
After attending the 6:00 AM mass and thereafter prayed my daily devotions such
as the Lord’s Prayer, the Hail Mary, Glory Be, the Apostles’ Creed and the
Prayer for Protection to St. Michael, the Archangel, I then asked if the Father
had anything to say.
Here is what I heard from the still, small, inner voice:
Son of my will, accept the sufferings that from time to time befall you. These
never escape my attention but whatever I allow is measured and will not last as
soon as its holy purpose is achieved.
Suffering comes to all people, death many times but why do I allow people to die
before their stay on earth is satisfied by a lifetime of many fruitful years?
Why do I take young people out of this life’s existence when their full
potential has never been reached? Am I unfair? Or can you say that death of
anybody is a mere coincidence? No, but I say death comes as my appointed time
to a person and whether that person is prepared or not. Have you not heard of
the Scripture, two persons working together, one is taken, the other left
behind? But where was the one taken gone into? Only me can provide the answer
to these apparent life’s mysteries but trust Me that if ever a young person is
taken before full maturity takes place, the time and day that that person leaves
this life is the best time for him/her to do so.
If a person is a wicked one, the day of his death is the best for his soul for
if I allow him to stay further on, the more harm not only to his soul but also
to the living will that person commit.
A good, young person dies but I am not mistaken that the appointed time of
separation is the best time to attain eternal glory. I know fully well in
advance how a person whether good or bad will live his or her life in the future
and how the future incidents in life will serve to affect the eternal soul
destiny. So, trust Me, I am in full control of events and incidents in each
person’s life that whatever happens will be for the soul’s better position in
eternity.
Thank you son for giving me time to speak thru you.

PS: I never had any clue as to what the Father would tell me. It is like coming
to take a test on a subject unprepared as to what part of the many lessons will
be given out. After the message reception and on my way home, I bought my
favorite newspaper, the Philippine Star and there and then it’s my great
amazement to find out that three Abu Sayyaf terrorists who perpetrated the
terror bombing of our office, the House of Representatives Tuesday evening were
reported to have been killed in a joint Police-Military operation that also
resulted in the capture of 3 more of their accomplices.
This day is Friday only 2 days separating from the terror incident.
After I learned that our officemate Maan Gale Bustalino is dead from the bomb
attack, 2 more employees and a Congressman were also dead while 2 more
Congressman and many other employees still remain critically wounded in the
hospital, I made one of the most fervent prayers I ever had to God to please
render immediate justice that the bombing perpetrators be identified, arrested
and the full force of the law applied on them. I did not pray that they get
killed for that is against the ambit of love but God has decided to apply the
ultimate penalty deathas the scripture says AN EYE FOR AN EYE, A TOOTH FOR A
TOOTH. Whoever lives by the sword shall die by the sword.
I did not know beforehand that the part of the message about the bad who die
refers to the slain terrorists. Only after I have seen the newspaper headline
was my turn to be very surprised.

There is a fate far worse than physical death, and that is a soul’s eternal separation from God.
Jesus told us not to fear those who can kill us, but rather to be concerned with that which can tempt us away from God.
If heaven means the direct vision of God, we should look forward to it! It is the possession of complete happiness.
In fact, many of those who have caught a glimpse of heaven did not want to return to this life.
From an earthly perspective, death is a tragedy for those left behind, not those bound for glory.

Why did a universal desire to possess perfect happiness evolve, if it can’t be obtained on earth?
If there was some divine intervention she would have said so. She opened the door and got out and the river current shut the door.
As a Thomist you should already know the answer to your question....a question which is based on a foolish ascription of ‘desire’ and ‘happiness’ to the universe. Read Aquinas.
I remember something about no desire being in vain. We desire drink because there is water. We desire food because it exists. Why would eternal happiness be the exception to the rule?
