At Easter, the theologian Martha Heizer returns to committing a "delictum gravis" and will hold a Eucharistic celebration in the "domestic church" under the threat of excommunication. The Tyrolean church theologian and critic Martha Heizer has drawn the ire of many religious leaders. She and four colleagues are accused of imitating Eucharistic celebrations without a priest. In the ecclesiastical world, this is a "delictum gravis", ie a "serious offense", which may lead to the excommunication. The local clergy has now launched investigations into the case. An opinion of the Bishop, Manfred Scheuer should be be presented "in the coming weeks" to the Vatican. Then, the CDF will decide on possible sanctions.

All about the churches power and not the power of Christ.
The church is very hesitant to excommunicate, seeing it as a very powerful spiritual act, but it is a lot more popular among the laity who view it as punishment to those who openly and maliciously attack the church and their faith.
As valid as a marriage of Barbie and Ken.
Fr. Vernon Meyer in Phoenix was excommunicated for “ordaining” womyn “priests”.
It MAY? It MAY?
Is the Church that afraid of its members? This dame is not a priest since you can't have a woman be a priest, so what's the problem?
I don't understand why this is a MAY issue, just like throwing Pelosi and any other pro-murder of unborn and newly born American babies the hell out of the Church with a public display of their madness. What . . . they might get some bad publicity? Doesn't the Church stand for anything anymore?
Or, you know, the Catholic Church gets to make the rules about who it deems is a member. How outrageously power hungry of the Church. And this woman is or at least used to be the vice pres. of “We Are Church,” a liberal Catholic group that seeks the inclusion of priestesses, priests in “open relationships,” and the acceptance of homosexuality. But no, it’s obvious this is all about Church power, no nothing to do with orthodox Christianity. Mmmhhhmm.
“I think that we need not even be particularly religious to convert the Eucharistic elements. The Holy Spirit does this at His or Her discretion.”
What an ogre the Church is being to this poor set-upon gender inclusive woman! Fight the power! Represent!

She will “celebrate” an “Easter” mess. Mockery.
Oh...she’s a lesbian...thought it was because she was just a woman.
Of course if she were just reading the Bible and Christ’s own words to remember His sacrifice through the communion, it wouldn’t really matter, only her heart with God.
The Catholic church might have something to say about this, but it wouldn’t endanger her soul, unless she isn’t serious when practicing it. I am a protestant, and it’s not a big deal to me.
"All about the churches power and not the power of Christ."
Really? She could just call herself a Baptist and then do anything from worshiping mother earth to selling blessed crystals and have no problem whatsoever. Protestants can call themselves anything they like and given the tens of thousands of different Protestant denominations they obviously have absolutely no standards. Far from being "about the power of Christ", that lack of standards is all about going along to get along in the world while laying low and not rocking the boat.
Rather than pretend that having no standards is a major spiritual benefit, the Catholic Church is wise to not accept someone as a true Christian just because a rosary tossed from a float during Mardi Gras landed on their girlfriends exposed boobs.
It's really funny how people on FR whine about those who were born and raised Catholic and then ended up becoming leftist trash aren't excommunicated, but when someone defies a basic tenant of the faith they turn around and blather about, "the power of the Church". I guess it's too much to ask for people to study the New Testament and figure out that there is clear teaching about shedding those who do not believe fundamentals of the Faith but not a word about shedding those who vote the wrong way in elections.
“...thought it was because she was just a woman.”
Has there ever been a conservative Catholic woman who accepts everything the Church teaches except for an all male priesthood in the Catholic Church? Everytime I have read about someone wanting to be a priestess in the Catholic church they also wanted abortion, “gay marriage,” an end to the discipline of celibacy, the ban on birth control, and their version of “social justice” which is just marxism. Everytime. Like “We are Church”, they LOVE the liberal path the Church took after Vatican II, and they HATED the last two Popes because they didn’t keep on it.
Catholic women who believe what the church teaches don’t want to be priestesses. They would be on FR. If there are folks calling themselves real Catholics on FR who think the seat of Peter has been vacant for 40+ years, then we would have plenty of women who want to be priestesses on FR if they were around.

My 4 year old son likes to do this. He even has a little chasuble and everything. The difference is that even at 4 he KNOWS he is not a priest.
I'll say. Pelosi is evidence of that.
Is that you, Martha? How many of the Apostles were women?
It's actually all about obedience to Almighty God and the lack thereof.
Wonderful comment! Laughing my head off in Wales.
I have now posted the whole interview.
