Um, NO. It was a cloud for Israel. Then there is the Shekinah but no pillar as such.

Depending on the translation you are using the term pillar appears about 140 times in the Protestant Bible. Only 12 times is it described as a cloud and 9 times as a pillar of fire. There is one reference to a pillar of salt and one reference to pillars being used structurally. That leaves over 120 times a pillar is a symbolic construct.
