Father, according to Your Word, those who heard the testimony of the woman at the well said, "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the World." Please cause the lives of Your children in this nation, and the lives of all our American Heroes to impact others by making them desire to meet You for themselves and believe! O Lord, we want others to be able to boast to You about our perseverance and faith in any persecutions and trials we endure. Help us to remember that others observe the way we handle trials. We want to have a faithful witness, Lord. Like Timothy's grandmother, Lois and his mother, Eunice, help us to pass down a heritage of faith.

You, Lord, are our light and our salvation--whom shall we fear? You, Lord, are the stronghold of our life--of whom shall we be afraid? When evil advances against us to devour our flesh, when our enemy and our foe attacks us, cause him to stumble and fall. Though as unseen army besiege us, cause our hearts not to fear; though war break out against us, even then will we be confident. Because one thing we ask of You, Lord, this is what we seek: that we may dwell in Your house all the days of our life, to gaze upon Your beauty and to seek You in Your temple, Amen.

GEORGE WASHINGTON RECEIVES VISION OF AMERICA'S FUTURE FROM ANGELIC MESSENGER.
In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
