The [Russian] Church Warns: Total Tolerance Will Deprive People of Freedom of Word and Turn Them..

Moscow, May 12, Interfax - The Russian Church official believes that absolute tolerance can make a person lose freedom and individuality.

"Tolerance in its absolute development is a death for freedom of word, freedom of thought, morality, turning a person into a mechanism with preset functions," head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said at a presentation of the book The Cruel Tolerance in Moscow.

The priest reminded that UNESCO in its Declaration of Principles on Tolerance 1995 officially urged to accept any ways of displaying human individuality and refuse absolutization of truth, and stressed that such a principle opposes not only God's law, but human conscience as well.

"They try to deprive us of the very right to judge what is good and what is bad, what is truth and what is lie," he said.

Authors of The Cruel Tolerance tried to predict what consequences the idea of tolerance can have if it is brought to absurdity. For instance, unisex marriages prevail in the world described in their tales, while a traditional family is considered an outdated anachronism.

One of the book's inspirers, Orthodox human rights advocate Roman Silantyev said at the presentation that "people intolerant to pluralism most often appear to be protectors of the so-called tolerance."

He explained that advocates of sexual minorities rights categorically refused to consider the right of naturals to insist on observing traditional family values in society.

Head of the Civilizations Interaction Foundation Rakhamim Emanuilov who supported the book is concerned that the idea of sexual differences is relegated to the backgrounds.

According to him, it is not by chance that modern standard of female beauty "lacks female forms, which aim at reproducing." Emanuilov believes that such a tendency is in tune with promoting homosexual unions.

I agree with Rooskies on this also. Plus the Islam world has denounced Obama as wrong as hell. All for damnable campaign donations from the “rich Gays”. When Taliban takes over there will be no Gays. Just ask Akhmadinajad.

Even with total tolerance, individuals will still be able to judge, they just can’t act on those judgements. That’s pretty much the way it has always been, and always wiill be.

We are all individuals and we always will be, but we must live within societies restrictions.

you wrote . . . "When Taliban takes over there will be no Gays. Just ask Akhmadinajad.

Actually not true.

Anedoctally speaking homosexuality in the islam world is far more persuasive than the western world will ever be. Religion and intolerance just does not allow it to be spoken freely and openly.

". . . However, do not take my word, my observations . . . Just google and you will find how how deep this is.

example in article from the "Muslim Observer" the following was written

Despite the risk of death, homosexuals are flooding out of the ‘closet’ and into the streets. In Kuwait specifically, you can often see gangs of homosexuals walking together. They are easy to spot. The dress code for male homosexuals in Kuwait is tight clothing, shaped eyebrows, white foundation with powder and a little lipstick. For females, they dress up like males with short spiky hair, studs and chains.

Islamic MPs in Kuwait have been calling for the formation of a special religious police unit to uphold morals in the country. But so far this request has fallen on deaf ears. Homosexuality is just one of the problems the MPs want to be tackled in Kuwait. Other problems include public lewdness and indecent behavior by young heterosexuals.

much more and better examples could be made on this subject. But hopefully you kinda get what I am trying to illustrate,

And . . . then ask any returning soldier on the front line in Afghanistan re the Taliban and homosexuality . . . yup!

Yep. Amadingdong made it quite clear. I thought Wallace was going to choke on his chicken when he heard that one.

Taliban are Sunnis- of the Wahabbi sect. Ahmadinejad is Shia. To the Taliban, Ahmadinejad and other Shia's are heretics, worse than Christians and on par with Hindus in their eyes -- to be slaughtered with no mercy.
