BOSTON The widow of U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy will be giving a spring commencement speech at a Roman Catholic college in Massachusetts after all.
Boston College Law School announced Friday that Victoria Kennedy will give the keynote address at its May 25 commencement.
Kennedy had been scheduled to deliver this years commencement speech at Anna Maria College in Paxton. But last month, the college withdrew the invitation under pressure from Bishop Robert McManus of the Diocese of Worcester (WUS-tur).
McManus objected to Kennedys public support for abortion rights and gay marriage, which are against church teachings.

It is about time the Church stopped looking the other way when these pro abortion and sometimes anti-Catholic speakers are welcomed with open arms at “Catholic” college. Too bad Notre Dame didn’t get the message when Obama was invited and Georgetown has invited Sibelius.

McManus should also have mentioned that the Swimmer and Reggie were committing adultery for 17+ years.
The Holy Father has started speaking out on the subject. That’s the signal that something’s brewing. It always takes the Vatican a while to get moving. Our Bishops are on notice and if they don’t fix the situation the Holy Father will. Ask any liberal nun in a baggy pant suit with a man’s haircut you may know.
Apparently what is wrong in one Diocese is not necessarily wrong in the Diocese next door.
Ironically this is a top criticism that the Catholic Church has been throwing at Protestants for many years.
