Organized Religion ‘is Where all the Trouble Comes From’: DePaul Commencement Speaker
LifeSite News ^ | 5/15/12 | Ben Johnson

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, May 15, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – The nation’s largest Catholic university will feature a commencement speaker who believes “the rest of life would benefit enormously” from the extinction of mankind, considers Christianity “the most dangerous of devotions,” and boasted about weakening the “dissolutive, oppressive institutions of organized religion.”

Population guru E.O. Wilson will address a combined ceremony of DePaul University‘s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and its College of Science and Health on June 10. The date is his 83rd birthday.

Although he is by training a myrmecologist who has discovered 450 different kinds of ants, the Harvard professor made his name as the father of sociobiology in the 1970s.

Along the way, he has expressed his enthusiasm for “population control,” internationalism, and displacing the “oppressive” force of religion.

While being interviewed for the 1999 Canadian radio series “From Naked Ape to Superspecies,” Wilson stated “if all humanity disappeared the rest of life would benefit enormously…the forests would grow back, the whole Earth would green up, the ocean would teem, and so on.” However, “If the ants were all to disappear, the results would be close to catastrophic.”

It’s indicative of what has become of society, that we pay attention to fools.

Very, very few “Catholic” universities think it is their mission to graduate students who are strong in their faith and who will be guided by their faith in their careers and in forming a family. They’re vastly over-priced - it would make more sense to go to a state school - you would receive the same grounding in the faith.

Too many alumni care more about the sports when they make their donations, than about the teachings of the Church.

There must be some mistake, another Prof. E.O. Wilson perhaps?

"...he is by training a myrmecologist who has discovered 450 different kinds of ants..."

There's his problem. He spent his entire life peering at the ground. The first time he ever raised his head, he invents a new field of study, and creates the "sociobiologist." Ants good. People bad.

Self-loathing, perhaps. People, like this, who live a sheltered, micro-focused life (such as in the study of myrmecology), can become obsessed with the rightness of their ‘mission’, and all else be damned. It’s conceivable this can lead to exclusion of interest or appreciation for all else in life. I’m postulating, but it makes some sense.

To me, it makes them no different, nor more useful, than the end-of-the-world soapbox orator. But today, we give them a stage and a venue. Just what does that say of us, never mind him...

One will note that "human extinction" proponents like E.O. Wilson never volunteer to demonstrate their commitment by killing themselves; no, no, that's for the other guy.

Tells you everything you need to know.

Here’s a thought—Had Depaul not abandoned principles espoused in the Bible and traditional Catholicism in an effort to appeal to “modern” society, there’s no way the dirtbag Wilson would be anywhere near the place, let alone speaking.

Maybe, just maybe, “organized religion” in its present manifestation has some explaining to do.

It is obviously time for DePaul University to be audited by the Holy Office. This is beyond the realm of heterodoxy and even heresy, into embracing what amounts to a pagan death cult. Baal-Moloch, the Egyptian god Set, or the Hindu Kali.

It sure as heck is not Catholic, or anything associated with Christianity or even God worship. It is anathema.

The worst organized religion of all is the religion of leftism, Marxism, Statism and Libtardism.

This religion has killed more people in just the last century than the combined totals of all religious wars on both sides through the beginning of history.

DePaul University alumni, cut the purse strings to this institution until it shapes up. Alumni donations are the life blood of a university.

The term ‘University’ is akin to ‘Universal’, meaning the consideration of all forms of human thought. Ostensibly, this is needed for a broad education.

But what’s missing is the necessity of separating the good from the bad. In order to appear inclusive, university administrations invalidate their responsibility to the student; to insure an education worthy of higher thought and respect for mankind. To discuss such trash, juxtaposed to higher human values, in a classroom environment is one thing. To provide it in the form of a commencement address is disgusting.

**Population guru E.O. Wilson**

Here's what you tell them.

Chesterton on birth control/population control:

In 1925 Chesterton wrote an introduction to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in which he said that “The answer to anyone who talks about the surplus population is to ask him, whether he is part of the surplus population; or if not, how he knows he is not.”

Well the man’s not pretty enough to take his clothes off, probably can’t sing or dance at his age, but he does write books that fill out library shelves and studies ants.

Anyone ever hear of his ant studies? No, not likely unless ants are your interest too. Than you, Mr. Wilson for the ant studies.
So how does an old fellow with a fading light gain a measure of notice?

He tries to be outrageous and ends up being outlandish.

That’s easily answered by the level of competence coming out of our grade schools, high schools, colleges and universities today. The answer: NO!

In my dreams I would hope that the Pope would gather the leaders of all the Catholic Universities into one room and knock a few heads together. I know that is not possible, but that is what I would hope.

What do these “leaders” think they are doing? At this point it is almost better to send your kid to a public school where you know that his faith will be undermined than to a Catholic school where they do it surreptitiously. At least you are forewarned in the public school. ‘Tis a sad state of affairs.

Since life on earth is coincidental and meaningless, who cares what would cause it to “teem” (or if it ceases to exist altogether)?

Anyone ever hear of his ant studies? No, not likely unless ants are your interest too. Than you, Mr. Wilson for the ant studies.

A book on ants he co-authored won a Pulitzer Prize a couple decades ago.

I'm a nature lover (particularly the small creatures), and there's nothing wrong with a love of all G-d's creatures. They were, after all, created by Him and for His glory (and for us), so love for them and gratitude to G-d for creating them is only natural.

The really bizarre thing is the radicalization of the love of nature. In recent decades nature has been enlisted against its Creator--by humans, not by animals--and atheists claim some sort of special connection to nature which those who acknowledge G-d can somehow never have. It's exactly like the Nazis' claims that Jews were "alienated from nature" because of Genesis. (How many stupid libs know that the Nazis were against Genesis?)

This insistence that only nature exists--that it is self-existent and not the creation of something outside itself--is the only thing I can think of that unites ultra-modern scientists and the primitive, shamanistic "indigenous pipples" they seem to admire so much (and never criticize). You'd think celebrants of modernity and materialism (who are so fond of comparing adherents of conventional religions "savages") would really go to town on genuine savages, but they never do. It's all one big, happy family.

Ants are okay, but personally, I'm fascinated by spiders. I love spiders. Love, love, love. No matter how bad I'm feeling, seeing a spider always makes me feel just a little bit better. Fortunately we're all surrounded by spiders at all times. They say no one is never very far from a spider at any time. What a comforting thought!

I'm not being sarcastic. I love spiders. Honest.

Harold Eberle: "Christianity Unshackled: Are You A Truth Seeker," Destiny Image Publishers, 2009

Stalin was responsible for about 20 million deaths and Mao Zedong's regime for approximately 70 million.
Pol Pot, who led the Communist Party faction known as the Khmer Rouge, killed over 1.5 million of his own Cambodian people.6 Add to these numbers the atrocities committed by Soviet dictators like Lenin, Khrushchev, and Brezhnev.
Also add atheists like Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-il. All total, atheistic regimes have slaughtered more than 100 million people within the last 100 years. That averages to more than 1 million people per year.

What amazes me is that of all those junior buttwipes who just pi$$ed away well over $100,000 of mommy’s and daddy’s savings for an “education”, there wouldn’t be one of them to make a scene when Mr. Antman showed up to speak...
