Would Jesus approve of same-sex "marriage"?
One News Now ^ | 5-19-12 | Dr. Jerry Newcombe

It was one thing for President Obama to call for the legalization of same-sex marriage.

But it was quite another to say that it's Jesus who causes him to embrace this position. This reminds me of what he said a few months ago, on the issue of ObamaCare and the like: Jesus made him do it. I addressed that issue in another recent column.

On May 9, 2012, President Obama told Robin Roberts of ABC News that his position on gay relations has now evolved to the point that he thinks "same-sex couples should be able to get married."

Speaking of himself and his wife, the president said: "We're both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others; but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing Himself on our behalf, but it's also the Golden Rule, you know? Treat others the way you'd want to be treated."

It's certainly true that the Lord sacrificed Himself for us. And it's certainly true that Jesus was the first to articulate the Golden Rule. "Do to others as you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12).

But there's a flaw in the Theologian-in-Chief's understanding. Citing the Old Testament, Jesus said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh" (Mark 10:7-8). One man. One woman.

Today people sometimes say that Jesus never condemned homosexuality. But He did when He condemned pornea (from which we get the word pornography). In Matthew 15:19, Jesus condemned a host of sins, one

If I may be so incredibly bold..... I believe that he would love the sinner and hate the sin.

So, he would be against it. But, he would forgive.

Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of their sinfulness. The only sin mentioned in the Bible is their homosexuality. (Genesis 19:1-7)

God condemned homosexuality under the law of the Patriarchs.

Under the law of Moses, those who were found lying man with man, i.e. homosexuals, were to be stoned. (Leviticus 20:13)

God condemned homosexuality under the Law of Moses.

Homosexuality is explicitely cited as a sin in numerous passages in the New Testament. (Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6)

God condemned homosexuality under the New Testament.

So, Mr. President, what Bible are you reading? Jeremiah Wright’s?

“We’re both practicing Christians”

I doubt if they will ever perfect it.

Good but you left out what preceded the Lords statement, which together is,

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? “ (Matthew 19:4-5)

He thus specified that it was male and female that Go joined together. And the Lord also condemned all fornications (plural): Mk. 7:21) while upholding the moral law.

Of course, prohomosexual polemicists have made inordinate attempts to negate the Biblical injunctions against homosexual relations, and to fin sanction for the same, forcing sex into passages it dos not belong in, and which requires a hermeneutic that effectively negates the authority of Scripture as the Word of God.,

Extensive examination here by the grace of God:

If that was the issue there would be no contention, as some of the first Christians were likely former homosexuals, (1Cor. 6:9-11) but the issue is that of denying that is sin, and even demanding acceptance and affirmation of it, according to the “Bible” on marketing it from Hell: http://www.conservapedia.com/Homosexual_agenda#Strategies_and_psychological_tactics

It's like how people say that Jesus didn't condemn the adulterer. He didn't approve of nor condone her behavior. Rather he told her to go but sin no more.

I did get to annoy someone recently when asked WWJD. I said he'd heal them. What? He'd make them Not Gay.

The problem is they do not think they need to be forgiven but instead think the Bible needs to be rewritten and the church needs to accomodate their sin. Basically, they wish to criminalize any disagreement.

What Would Jesus Approve?

When He dictated the Book of Revelation to John, the last chapter includes a statement about who will be allowed in the Holy City and who will forbidden to come inside. This is a clear metaphor for salvation.. And “outside” are “dogs”, an easy Greek term for homosexuals.

So although Jesus said in John 3:16 that He was giving the gift of eternal life to anyone who believes in Him, that gift is conditional. A person who is immoral (even sexually immoral) does not qualify. Jesus calls on everyone, even conservative bloggers who are living with their girl friends, to stop practicing that which violates His commands.

It has fascinated me that when BHO wants to "quote" scripture to support his perverted plans...the one he quotes, he misquotes.

He has been fond of saying things like, "...scripture tells us that...we are our brother's keeper..." (insert your favorite story here about the brother he does have in Kenya whom he does NOT keep...).

Using that phrase he is mis-quoting Genesis 4:9...[New American Standard Bible (©1995)] Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

That is a fascinating scripture to (mis)quote as Cain is 1) LYING (he does know where Abel is...he had murdered him...) and 2) it is an arrogant, self-absorbed, dishonest answer to a question asked of him.

Perfect fit for BHO.

I love that passage of Matthew. It’s one of the best of the bible. So clear, and so true. Jesus lays out the godly definition of marriage and explains why - “he made them male and female”. For a reason!

The folks on that site keep trying to justify their behavior by saying that since Jesus never specifically said that homosexuality was sinful, it must be OK.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

NO!

It amuses me that Obongo Bozo continues to try to pass himself off as a Christian. So far as I can tell, he has not done anything to indicate that he is a Christian, other than to proclaim it.

And, we all know he LIES!

After all, among other things, he is a LIEberal!

So, he would be against it. But, he would forgive

Only if they repented, and asked for forgiveness.

Look at the adulterous women being stoned..you are forgiven..sin no more...
Jesus forgives but does not condone..
He is the redeemer ....not the enabler There is a difference...it is love without lies

And a point that most people seem to miss: God never says that Cain is Abel's keeper. Keepers are for animals.

Keeping oneself clean has a big deal in all sucessful civilizations. Playing in the poop shooter is not clean. How many diseases are spread from people not washing their hands after they go to the bathroom?

No, Jesus was not a filthy man, and because He is wise and loves mankind, He would not say it is alright for men to play in poop shoots. They could shout Him down all they want and He would not bless that activity.

And this is just one of many horrible natural consequences that comes with the homo lifestyle. To re-engineer marriage and family to host that filth has it’s own set of dark cosequences.

Hmmm, I think satan does the same thing in Matthew 4:6. Misquotes Psalm 91.
