The convent at Sinsinawa Mound proudly advertised (at least on the sign they used to - and may still - have out front) their status as a nuclear-free zone, but I can't recall them advertising their status as an ethics-free zone. In any event, a surprising number of the nuns around here are definitely more Democrat than Dominican.

They know some people will sign petitions multiple times. But with a million signatures and only 700,000 needed, they didn’t think there would be enough multiples to reduce the list below the threshold. Also, state law requires all verifying be done by election officials, so they rejected the public’s help in reviewing the lists.

Speaking as a former Catholic, but not as a former ROMAN Catholic, I don’t think that US Roman Catholics are actually Catholics - but they pay the bills, so the Pope puts up with them; he just slaps a few around once in a while to look good.
