This is the religion forum and discussion about mormonism. If you are not interested in the discussion, why not just move along?
Oh, and since the words are the words from lds sources, what is wrong about them?

Catholics think you Protestants are heretics. Jews don’t believe Jesus was the Son of God.

- - - —
Actually, Catholics consider protestants brethren, separated brethren but consider us to be Christians.

Jews aren’t claiming to be Christians.

Mormons claim to be the only Christians, while at the same time insulting every basic Christian belief and lying about their beliefs. Christians are called to fight that - deal with it.

Your small mind can’t grasp this goes way beyond Mittens. We were fighting Mormonism before Mitt ever ran and we will continue to do so when he is a long bad memory.

BTW, this is on the RELIGION forum, if you can’t stand the heat, then go back to the News/Activism forum. If you have no care for souls then that is not my problem, go back to your narrow little world.

And I’m not voting for either Mitt or Obama. The GOP has screwed conservatives over one too many times.

I'm curious, at what point in reading the entries on this thread and the article of its origin did you imagine the thread was about Milt Rominy? The thread is about MormonISM, which is not a form of Christianity. I have no doubt that some LDS adherents are Christians, but they are seen by God's eye not mine and they didn't become Christians by adhering to MormonISM and the blasphemies and heresies at the heart of the LDS inc religion.

Again, just what point int he thread prior to your post did you read this thread was about Romney?

Let me help you out, the first reference is found in post #2. The thread article does not mention Romney.

- - - - -
Far, far worse, ontap. Far worse.

I at least speak the truth and have been on both sides of the fence. One of the things that always bothered me when I was LDS was why we wanted to be considered ‘just another Christian denomination’ when we hated Christians so much and we were the ‘only true church’. My Mission Prep professor explained it was easier to get them to convert if we didn’t tell them what we really believed or believed about them.

I can give you sources by LDS leaders that show my point.

I oppose all polygamy. I oppose closet polygamy and I oppose bringing closet polygamy into the open so as to mainstream polygamy. Marriage =. one man + one woman.

Reject Romney. Reject Obama. Reject all evil.

And, polygamy is evil.

Although not tied to Romney in this thread, THAT IS a concern, when a man about to obtain immense power, believes such lies.

Get off it! So while we are at it.

Lets blame Christian's for the Spanish Inquisition and other forms of it over the ages.

Lets blame the Jews for the death of Christ.

PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN'T THROW STONES

I am very close to leaving Free Republic, I did not vote for Mitt in the Florida Primary, but he has won the GOP nod fair & square.

I have been inpressed how Mitt and his campaign has been fighting, their jabs and counter punches have been hurting Obama's campaign. He is fightning the campaign, we watched McLame just roll over four years ago. I am happy to see somebody fightning against Obama.

I never saw any freaky rituals or cult like activities.

That's because in order to see the "freaky rituals or cult like activities" you have to be "temple worthy".

Tell me that the following rituals are NOT freaky and cult like!

LDS Temple Ceremony Click HERE

In order to be "temple worthy" a member must satisfactorily answer the following questions from their bishop in order to have a "recommend" that is required to enter the doors of the temple.

There were SEVERAL temples in Idaho when you resided there, right?

*******************************************************

Temple Recommend questions.

1 Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost?

2 Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and of His role as Savior and Redeemer?

3 Do you have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel in these the latter days?

4 Do you sustain the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and as the only person on the earth who possesses and is authorized to exercise all priesthood keys? Do you sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators? Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local authorities of the Church?

5 Do you live the law of chastity?

6 Is there anything in your conduct relating to members of your family that is not in harmony with the teachings of the Church?

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?

9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?

10 Are you a full-tithe payer?

11 Do your keep the Word of Wisdom?

12 Do you have financial or other obligations to a former spouse or children? If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?

13 If you have previously received your temple endowment:

Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple?
Do you wear the garment both night and day as instructed in the endowment and in accordance with the covenant you made in the temple?

14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been?

15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances?

No Christian church requires this kind of interrogation of its members, not to mention the controlling of what members wear. drink, who they associate with, nor whether they tithe.

Cult? Yep!

Why do they think every LDS thread is about Mittens and use it as excuse to pimp the liberal? We were doing this long before Mittens and we will do it long afterwards.

BTW, talked to another woman who just left the LDS church and came to Christ a couple of months ago. God be praised!

The Mormons I have known don’t seem to have much if any better idea themselves.

- - - —
Or perhaps they just aren’t telling you. I know I didn’t tell gentiles much of what we believed when I was LDS under the guise of ‘milk before meat’.

Romney may be a Mormon. Not many people are not up on many of Mormon teachings.

Obama is vague on what he is. Obama fits the bill on being a Muslim in some ways & a Marxist in some ways.

The funny thing about the SP episode on Mormonism is that what is in the episode is what the LDS missionaries ADMIT to and it doesn’t even cover the really strange doctrines...

God had sex with Mary, Jesus was a polygamist, Adam is God, we will become Gods, Heavenly Mother, Jesus was a sinner, God was a sinner, the Temple endowment (really freaky and poorly written to boot)....

polygamy is evil (I think you mean, "polygyny")

Of course it's much better for successful men to have have mistresses instead of multiple wives, and for single women, even teenage girls, to run wild in the streets and have babies.

And it's better for a successful man to have only one wife, that way a lot of women either end up with losers or alone until they die.

Sure--monogamy is a much better system. But strange, isn't it, that monogamous societies are so rare throughout history, that one would think monagamy abnormal.

Jeffrey Holland claims forgiveness of personal sins applies to ONLY to members of the Mormon church:
__________________________________________________

Good thing for me I believe the Bible version where the LORD Jesus Christ said,

“For God so loved Nana and all the rest of the world that He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN Son that if Nana and whosoever else believes in Him, she and whosoever else will have eternal life” John 3:16

Did you miss the memo that this site does not condone or support polygamy?

Marriage is between only one man and one woman.

Aside from that, your presumptions and conclusions are fallacious. Why don’t you ask women who have escaped polygamy? They will tell you it is pure hell and abusive to women.
