I'd love to know the roots of the story...why Stalinism thrived in Mexico during this time.
We saw this movie yesterday. It is a wake-up call to all current day Christians. Prior to the movie, I knew little about the details of Calles’ rule as president of Mexico. Wanting to know more, I Googled Calles and surprisingly found a highly informative article on Wikipedia, of all places, which was not at all kind to this leftist, fascist dictator. Well worth a read, especially for those who have seen the movie as it provides details about Calles both before his election and after his term was up, at which time he still controlled the Mexican government for quite a few years.
Perhaps this will subtly get through to a large audience how socialism declines to the police state.
