Who his own self bare our sins in his own body
on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should
live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
( 1 Peter 2:24 )

TOPICS: Prayer
KEYWORDS: heroes; nation; pray
We are among Your chosen people, O Lord, Your royal priesthood, Your holy nation. We Your children in this Nation are part of a people belonging to You, that we may openly declare Your praises, the One who called us out of darkness into Your wonderful light. Dear God, as we belong to You, please help us to flee from sin and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Above all else, help us and all our American Heroes to love You with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength. Help us to live lives of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to You.

No matter what we once were, we have been washed, we have been sanctified, and we have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God! Father, Your Word says that when the time had fully come, You sent Your Son, born of woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because we are Your children, You sent the Spirit of Your Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba Father”. We have the full rights of a son! And it is our right to be free in You! We celebrate as fact that we are no longer slaves, You have made us heirs. In Jesus name we pray, Amen

Peacocks And Their Kin

June 12, 2012

Male peacocks are resplendent creatures with iridescent blue-green plumage and elongated trains tipped with “eyes” colored in hues of gold, red, and blue. They are strikingly beautiful birds, but they have ugly feet!

To be honest, most of us have some type of physical limitation. It may be something we’ve borne all our lives or one we’ve recently acquired.

Paul described his deficiency as a “thorn in the flesh” that kept him humble (2 Cor. 12:7-9). Three times he asked the Lord to remove it, probably thinking that he could then serve God better. But the Lord assured him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul replied, “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

One of the ironies of faith is that God often chooses us to accomplish His most important tasks despite our imperfections, not because of our speaking ability, looks, or fitness for the task. Missionary Hudson Taylor said, “God was looking for someone weak enough to use, and he found [you and me]!” When we find our strength in Him, He can use us in ways we could never imagine (v.9).

Lord, I have many weaknesses. Please show Your
strength through me by using me in whatever way
You please. May others see You at work in me and
praise Your name. Amen.
God’s strength is best seen in our weakness.

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE

"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod"
William Billings
(Click)

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

SHADOWS AT ARLINGTON

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these brave men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
