Christians who only read the NT are missing out.

Christians read the Old Testament to learn about the coming of the Messiah. Christians read the New Testament to learn the Messiah’s message and the birth of Christianity. The New Testament scriptures appeared 400 hundred years after the Old Testament went silent.

Jews read the first five books of Old Testament to learn the Hebrew laws. Jews read the remainder of the Old Testament to learn Hebrew history, Hebrew poetry, and the words of the Major and Minor Prophets before the Old Testament went silent for 400 years.

A couple of passages of Old Testament poetry I favor :

Proverbs 14:7 - Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Ecclesiastes 10:2 The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left
