Henry Entwistle appointed Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate for Australia, Our Lady of the Southern Cross. The Ordinariate was erected June 15, 2012.

KEYWORDS: anglican; australia; catholic; personalorindariate
There is no actual article. I'm just summarizing the events as noted on David Chaney's wonderful website, catholic-hierarchy.com. Fr. Entwistle is a former priest of the Church of England, and then of the Anglican Church of Australia. He moved to the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia, a branch of the Traditional Anglican Communion, and came over to the Catholic Church in 2012.

He was ordained a Catholic priest today by Archbishop Timothy Costelloe, Archbishop of Perth, and then appointed Ordinary of the newly-erected ordinary.

I was alerted via e-mail by catholic-hierarchy.com, and the URL I used is for the daily events of June 15.

I didn't see this previously posted. I apologize in advance if it's a duplicate.

Here’s a link to the Vatican news website:

http://www.news.va/en/news/ordinariate-established-for-australia

First paragraph:

It was announced on Friday Pope Benedict XVI has erected the third personal ordinariate according to the norms established by the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorun coetibus. The Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross will conform to the area of the Australian Bishop’s Conference. The former Western Regional Bishop of the Traditional Anglican Communion, the Reverend Harry Entwistle, was appointed the Ordinariate’s first Ordinary.

Dear Religion Moderator,

Fr. Entwistle’s first name is actually Harry. Could you adjust the title and the body of the post? I'd appreciate it. My apologies for the error.

Also, I think I noticed a snarky keyword added. Kinda pathetic on the part of that poor soul. Could you remove it, please?

Thanks,

Dear Religion Moderator,

Thanks for the corrections. That's what I get for staying up past my bedtime.

Caucus extension: Not sure why you did that. I only ask that should the thread become unfriendly as a result, that you would restrict it back.

This is just meant to be a friendly, informational thread, and sadly, someone already got a little hostile with the keywords.

Thanks,

You're welcome. Thanks for your support.

I extended the caucus because post #1 indicated his background was Church of England and Anglican should Freepers from those beliefs have a comment on his change.

How lovely that the Holy Spirit has guided Pope Benedict XVI to open a way for all our separated brothers and sisters of the Anglican Church to return to the fold.

May God bless them all.
