Featured Term (selected at random):

ANGLO-CATHOLICISM

Popular name of most Catholic sections of the High Church movement among Anglicans or Episcopalians. It stresses some form of acceptance of the papacy, the seven sacraments, and a sacrificing (not merely functional) priesthood.

Ordinariate? Are these the Anglicans coming to the Catholic Church?

If so, then "Welcome Home."

Actually, this term predates the Ordinariate.

BUT - these are the Anglicans Most Likely to Come Home to Rome.

Anglo-Catholics do come in two different flavors: the ones that are really into the ritual/liturgy, and the ones that are really into the theology. The ones that are into the theology are into the liturgy as well.

It's the ones that are just into the liturgy that you have to look out for. They tend to be pro-homosexual and pro-radical-feminist (but I repeat myself).

Thanks for the clarification. When I posted it this morning I had questions about which would be coming to Catholicism.

You cleared up the issue nicely.

Yes. Exactly. BTDT and got the letter from my bishop acknowledging my renunciation of my orders.

There are some for whom a bastardized Tridentine Rite is a kind of kabuki play, an aesthetic and antiquarian enterprise, thick with irony.

But some have actually read a book, said some prayers, and somewhere in there been given the grace to offer their ministry to Christ, without reservation.

These will swim the Tiber.
