America’s Future: Instability, Insecurity, Inflation, and Insurrection?

Is America about to hit an iceberg, or to change metaphors in midstream, are we about to experience a train wreck unlike any other? Economic disaster is dead ahead and we are racing toward it at an incredible speed. Elected officials, of both parties, are reckless, hopeless, irresponsible, and criminal. The financial abyss is too wide to jump but stupid politicians will try to make it with two jumps! The really dumb ones will try three jumps!

Nobel Prize winning economist Robert Mundell declared, “We’ve never been in this unstable position in the entire currency history of 3,000 years.” And make no mistake; this disaster will not be confined to the U.S. but will be worldwide. Fearful of getting caught with U.S. dollars when the music stops, China and other nations are buying gold. Why add almost worthless U.S. dollars to the astounding hoard of dollars they already possess? They know that our dollar is flopping on the deck like a dying fish.

About half of Americans believe another great depression is coming in the next two years followed, I believe, with heart-stopping inflation. I believe it will be an historic global disaster that will produce hostility, hardship, hoarding, homelessness, hopelessness, hunger, hatred, hysteria, homicide, and horror–international horror. It may be so bad that many nations, including the US will declare martial law and incarcerate masses of ordinary Americans who take the wrong positions, ask the wrong questions, advocate the wrong issues, and act the wrong way.

It is dangerous to be right and advocate it, when the government is wrong. Police officers and the military will probably be ordered to shoot Americans “to restore order.” Some of the officials will refuse to obey orders which could cost them their lives, producing even additional chaos, resulting in danger, disorder, and death.

With so many citizens out of work who cannot pay taxes, the government will receive less and less money while expenditures grow more and more. Without money to pay the interest on our national debt, the only way out is to print more money resulting in hyperinflation. That is reminiscent of Zimbabwe where in recent years three eggs cost one hundred billion dollars and hamburgers cost fifteen million dollars. Almost everyone in Zimbabwe is a millionaire. They are starving to death but they are millionaires. Watch out America. Here we come.

Without money, the U.S. Government will have to default on payments to seniors, vets, disabled, etc. No more checks from the Feds! When the old folks, disabled, and veterans storm the Capital in desperation, that will be the government’s justification for the military to keep order contrary to the law. The military will be ordered to keep the peace (in direct opposition to the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 that prohibits the use of U.S. military forces to perform the tasks of civilian law enforcement). Authorities will say, “but disaster is ahead, so it’s necessary just this time.”

Senator Mark Warner warned, “We’re approaching financial Armageddon!” And Senator Joe Manchin said we face a “fiscal Titanic!” However, federal officials close their eyes to the facts and demand, “Full speed ahead.” After all, what’s a little ice to this unsinkable ship?

Inflation can destroy America as it has done to other nations. In the 1990s, Yugoslavia, a southeast European nation, was broke. Yugoslavia was an outgrowth of WW I, and following WW II, it became a part of the Soviet Union. Of course, Communism never works and the nation was bankrupt. The Communist officials decided to proceed down the ramp leading to the inflation freeway that leads to serfdom as has happened to so many other nations. Communism never works.

Since Yugoslavia was out of money, public officials did what all respectable stupid politicians do: they began to steal the peoples’ money. (Think: Obama’s plan to take over our retirement plans!) Furthermore, citizens were limited in removing their own funds from their banks. (Think: Roosevelt’s “bank holiday” two days after he took office in 1933.) We can always count on politicians being politicians and count on totalitarians being totalitarians.

Of course, the Yugoslavian government’s effort to restore sanity was insanity. They forbade people access to their own money and started to print money day and night, a practice followed by so many other nations. They established wage and price controls that have never worked. With prices doubling so often, the producers (forbidden to raise their prices to keep up with inflation) did what even a fool would do: the producers stopped producing! Why work and produce when you can’t even break even? One does not have to be a Nobel Prize winning economist to understand simple economics.

Citizens could no longer purchase bread, cheese, cars, gasoline, clothes, and other necessities. And even if bread were available it now cost $50,000,000,000,000. That’s 50 trillion dollars for a loaf of bread! At this time, society fell apart or more correctly was ripped apart by incautious, indecisive, incompetent, and inept public officials.

The desperate, the demented, and the dishonest elements in Yugoslavia preyed upon helpless, innocent people. They robbed pharmacies, taking drugs and selling them in front of the stores they had robbed! The nation came apart especially in the cities.

Yugoslavia no longer exists.

This happening all over the world Greece, Spain, Italy almost all of Europe. How many countries can Germany prop-up before they too are swamped? Britain and France are already so weak that the Islamist they have allowed to ‘invade’ them will most likely over run them when the time comes.

Here at home we find that the corner three card Monte dealer is more honest than most of the ‘Too Big to Fail’ banks and investment houses. And face it the Monte dealer who ‘scams’ a few hundred is a thousand times more likely to go to jail that the ‘banksters’ that are stealing millions.

The game is so rigged now that the fraudsters don’t even know how its going to play out. We are headed for some bad times, which is one of the reasons I’ve been sounding the alarm. Its time that you either prepare to stand on your own beholden to no one or accept that you will be a ‘serf’ dependent on others to provide your basic needs.

Check out Ferfal’s blog and Selco’s blog despite what so many think it is NOT impossible for a modern country to quickly fall into chaos! It’s happen before and it is happening now.

As for me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

Some seem to think that prepping is foolish, so I ask you what’s easier telling your children and loved ones why you prepared or explaining to them why you didn’t?

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

But then someone has to stand on the bridge waiting for FEMA to bring them a bottle of water, an MRE and a warm blanket so as to provide the Network Anchors their background ‘Money Shot’. I wonder how that will workout for them?

I am not saying that things will turn Mad Max/Book of Eli, (With the possible exception of a brief time in a few of the larger big blue cities) but things could easily breakdown for 30 to 60 days during which basic supplies, goods and services stop, banking stops (No checks No Credit Cards, No Debit Cards so on...) now how many people do you think are ready for such?

And between those not ready and those who have always had the ‘gubberment’ hand them everything what do you think the reaction will be?

Their reaction I think can be summed up in one of my favorite quotes:

Quark: Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They’re a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don’t believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes. ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’: The Siege of AR-558 (#7.8)” (1998)

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

Lastly this for the doubters and the scoffers.

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.

Underestimation can be fatal.”

This is why the Constitution mandates that states only accept gold or silver as payment.

You cannot have runaway inflation with a Gold or Silver standard. It also restricts the size/power of Government.

Sadly this is a lesson that is going to have to be PAINFULLY relearned. Both by the world and by the people of the USA.

Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 that prohibits the use of U.S. military forces to perform the tasks of civilian law enforcement WILL be used, again.

Let's look at the HISTORICAL record - 1932 to be precise.

There was a Bonus Army of some 34,000 (17,000 were WW1 vets)encamped at Hooverville on the Anacostia Flats, a swampy, muddy area across the Anacostia River from the federal core of Washington.

On July 28, U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. When the police attempted to execute this order they were met with resistance and 2 vets were killed. President Herbert Hoover then ordered the army to clear the veterans’ campsite.

Elements of the 12th Infantry Regiment and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks were deployed to carry out the Presidential order. Through the use of cavalry charges, bayonets and adamsite gas, an arsenical vomiting agent, Hooterville was cleared of its inhabitents (men, women, and children) and burned.

In the Presidential elections that fall, some 4 months later, Hoover's bid for reelection failed.

The USA Chief of Staff, Douglas MacArthur didn't retire until 1937, but was recalled to active duty in 1941 and remained on active duty for 10 more years and Maj George Patton, the tank commander, continued on active duty until his death in 1945.

Based on the history of 1932 and the current administration I wouldn't depend on the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 to do anything to prevent, reduce, or slow down the use of the US military, in full combat array, to maintain “the public order”.

hmm ~ gold, silver, greenbacks ~ you can have runaway inflation in greenbacks, deflation in silver (calling for 'free silver' ~ meaning to float free with respect to gold), and even more deflation in gold, making fewer ounces of gold able to command even more ounces of silver.

Simultaneously you can have the price of corn and hogs to continue to run inversely to each other!

At the moment we are suffering mightily from deflation ~ who is going to solve that.

Two years is a little sooner than I expected....I've thought it would be closer to five years.

Drones are operated by the military. You have to be a “pilot” to “fly” one. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, some fat deputy sheriff sitting behind a desk is not flying these things spying on Americans.

Words from 2009:

Deflationary Depression: The Simple Explanation

December 7, 2009
James Wood

90% of the people believe the economic problem is in the process of being resolved and that 2010 will be significantly better, even though many admit there might be some short term set backs on the way to the recovery. Government officials, many economists, and the vast majority of market analysts are saying it is so. This writer and a very small minority say the truth is that a terrible, deflationary depression is probably starting in the coming months. Here is why people like me think this.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3). Our dangers are of two kinds, those which affect our religion, and those which affect our government. They are, however, so closely allied that they cannot, with propriety, be separated. The foundations which support the interests of Christianity, are also necessary to support a free and equal government like our own. In all those countries where there is little or no religion, or a very gross and corrupt one, as in Mahometan and Pagan countries, there you will find, with scarcely a single exception, arbitrary and tyrannical governments, gross ignorance and wickedness, and deplorable wretchedness among the people.

To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoy. In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation, either through unbelief, or the corruption of its doctrines, or the neglect of its institutions; in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom, and approximate the miseries of complete despotism. I hold this to be a truth confirmed by experience. If so, it follows, that all efforts made to destroy the foundations of our holy religion, ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness. Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all the blessings which flow from them, must fall with them..

Paranoid delusion or reasonable forecast - regardless, it sounds like something Obama would like to bring to America.

The thing is, it is actually happening in Europe.

The gravy train is over. Now comes the collapse. The beauty of the plan for the left is that they'll be able to come back with a "we can fix this...WITH MORE SOCIALISM" and Europe historically will buy it.

The question comes to "If or WHEN we can expect it here". We have more Americans on subsidies than ever.

Who's going to have the balls to take that away? It will continue until the ETB cards no longer work and the gubbamint checks start to bounce or are not deposited.

Then we have a leftist orchestrated crisis where the left will scream "How are you going to fix this?!?" and "The GOP doesn't care that you're starving!"

What a glorious mess we'll have on our hands then.

That might be the reason behind all the TARPs and quantitative easing. They’re printing money to prevent deflation, but this prevents consumer demand from spiking in response to low prices. It also risks massive inflation when the forces generating deflation slow or stop.
