TO ALL,

GOD is all and all!

Please pray the LORD's PRAYER and please read:

Revelation 1:4-8

4 John, to the seven churches of Asia: grace and peace to you from him who is, who was, and who is to come, from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the First-born from the dead, the highest of earthly kings. He loves us and has washed away our sins with his blood,

6 and made us a Kingdom of Priests to serve his God and Father; to him, then, be glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.

7 Look, he is coming on the clouds; everyone will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the races of the earth will mourn over him. Indeed this shall be so. Amen.

8 'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

GOD BLESS US ALL,

Jesus4life

You may be just the person to ask, and I ask this because I don’t spend much time at religious sites. Do religious sites have a problem with conservatives attempting to refocus those sites on politics?

You didn’t ask ME, so excuse me for butting in uninvited.

Maybe this thread can answer your question?

It’s not a hard question, just a simple yes or no would suffice. Do I really need to wade through a 600+ response thread? Help me out here.

Dude. The title and/or the first sentence should suffice.

Jim welcomes God here. As should YOU!

That was neither a “yes” nor a “no”. “Do conservatives take over religious sites?” was the original question (admittedly somewhat paraphrased), no matter how many times you choose to attempt to change the subject.

I’ll play along and say yes.

Why?

I have a really hard time believing that liberals can truly BE God-like.

Hey, at least we’re giving this guy a relatively high response thread for a change.

Can conservatives be non-God-like? This agnostic wants to know.

Thanks for answering. I was curious. I apologize for the damage done to the religious sites by my fellow conservatives.

On FR, there are numerous special interest threads that have nothing to do with politics. I often see cooking threads, home improvement threads, motor vehicle threads, travel threads, computer interest threads, movie and TV threads, music threads, celebrity watch threads, wildlife threads, photography threads, home brewing threads, and outer space threads, just to name a few.

Just curious = when you see any threads on the above topics, do you make similar inquiries about refocusing?

jesus4life - I like your threads and read them more often than not. Thanks.

You make a very good point. My personal preference would be that those threads be minimized as well. However...a thread about cooking or homebrewing etc deal with provable concepts. Christians and atheists both weigh in with unprovable concepts. You could find a representative zelot of numerous religions willing to die for their beliefs...at most, only one of them could be correct. Arguing unprovable concepts seems a waste of time (and bandwidth) to me. Believe what you want, but I find proselytizing offensive, hence my remarks. Hate me if you must, that’s just how I feel. (When discounting my views you should know that I was an altar boy back in the Latin mass days and even considered the priesthood during my grade school years and I have studied many religions in the years hence)

gorush,

Just curious as to what damage your fellow conservatives have done to the religious sites. Could you offer some specifics please?

Go back to the beginning of the thread and you’ll realize that I have no first hand knowledge from which I could possibly answer that question. Someone on this thread told me that conservatives takeover religious sites and refocus them on politics. I only said that I regretted that if it were true. I know I wouldn’t want the reverse to be true.

We argue unprovable concepts on FR all the time in the form of opinions and speculation. E.g., someone likes Sarah Palin, another person does not. Which one is correct? Someone grows tomatoes on a trellis, another grows them in cages. Which is correct?

If FR were confined to only threads where only provable concepts were discussed (actually there wouldn’t be any discussion if it was proven), it would be a pretty dry place.

I think people frequent FR and other forums to read different opinions and ideas, provable or not. By weighing a lot of different options, you develop your own world view and everyone’s is different because of their interest, knowledge, and experience.

There’s something for everyone and if religion threads don’t float your boat, you can just pass them by. It’s not possible to proselytize someone who is not interested in being proselytized.

There are plenty of threads that hold no interest whatsoever for me, and I just pass them by. But they may be topic number one for someone else and that’s great.

I believe that God inspires Jesus4Life to share his faith on FR. His efforts touch me and give me a boost when I need it. I know I’m not the only one.

Challenging a person does not imply hate.

If politics did not enter into using government law and power to dictate an amoral realm and respected religious freedom as intended by the constitution, religion would not enter into politics beyond the character measurement of individuals running for office according to each person’s own standards.

Alas, the two have been in a struggle since the radical rose up in the 60’s and there is now a struggle for dominance between Social Marxists/humanists/atheists and America’s founding Judeo Christian Western culture and philosphy. There will be no void and the two sides are very different in outcome for the well being and constitutional standing of the Republic. One created the ideals and nature of this Republic’s individual liberty and justice and the other produced the Soviet Union.
