A progress report from the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator has declared that the Higgs boson, dubbed the God particle, has been found. The discovery of the new particle is a major step toward confirming the Standard Model used in modern physics.
Professor John Womersley said, They have discovered a particle consistent with the Higgs boson
That is confirmed...."

ACLU will file suite to have “God” removed from this find... /s =.=
A lot of stories get reposted here every few HOURS. Some apparently just read the first screen of FR, even if they haven’t been to the site in days.
A good policy would be that if the original story is dated any later than the last 12 hours, do multiple creative searches of FR before posting.
“First time I saw it. And Im a regular here.”
A regular once a year?
So, is this what Hawking has been waiting for to "prove" that G-d wasn't necessary to create the universe from nothing?
Once a year? If you’ve never seen my many posts, you must be an occasional visitor.
G-d would, because “The foundation of all fouundations and pillar of all wisdom is to know that there is a First Existence from which all other existences come to be (Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Yesodei Hatora, Chapter 1, Halacha 1).” All the Higgs particle is is a tool that He uses to make all things constantly come into being ex nihilo, which is a greater miracle than the splitting of the Red Sea. Higgs is how, not who.
Ugh, sometimes having a background in Physics can be a curse, because this thought is keeping me awake...
Could a black hole be nothing more than a Higgs Boson condensate? If enough of them are packed together, do they fall into a degenerative state where the Higgs field can’t revert to a tachyonic field? I would think that such a condition would result in a VERY high, persistent, local mass density, like a black hole.
There. Now may I gan get to sleep...
