What Do Mormons Believe about Salvation? [Ankerberg Show]
Lightsource.com ^ | July 8, 2012

When Mormons say Jesus is the Savior of the world, do they mean the same thing Christians do? Is salvation the same thing in Mormonism as it is in Christianity? Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the father but by me." So, in other words, a person's eternal destiny rides on choosing the right way.

This is a 28 1/2 minute program featuring John Ankerberg.

In light of ABC's (last) Friday night special on heaven, an interesting unique look at Mormon beliefs on this subject can be found at this thread: THE TOP TEN MOST SURPRISING 'MORMON TEACHINGS' ABOUT MORMON HEAVEN and AFTER-LIFE [Vanity]

What do Moslems teach about salvation, since the Mormon is running against the Moslem?

Good question.
Why not start your own thread with that as the discussion question, this thread however is about mormonISM.

(Start a Muslim thread on the subject and ping me; I'll be sure to inject a post there)

Z you must have been trying to direct your comment to E. Pluribus Unum because I used neither word Muslim nor Moslem.

The only reason you are bringing up Mormonism is because one of the Presidential candidates is a Mormon, so acknowledgement of the Moslem alternative is apropos.

Mormons have multiple definitions of salvation.

Where Jesus is concerned, they believe He made it possible
through his sacrifice to ensure that all men could be physically resurrected... not necessarily re-united with the Father.

So salvation as Christians understand it is NOT salvation as Mormons understand it where Jesus is concerned.
But they will tell you these days that they believe Jesus saves us, and they are not lying... just using semantics
to convince christians that their faith is common.

Start your own thread on your apparent favorite subject then.
This is the Religion Forum and Colofornian has been exposing mormonISM for nearly a decade now.
My guess is you never cared until your candidate floated to the top.
So back to the question of the thread, What do Mormons Believe about Salvation?
Do you have a thought about that?

What do an increasing number of atheists believe about salvation?

What do agnostics believe about salvation?

What do all the people that call themselves Christian that kinda-sorta go to church believe about salvation?

How do questions like this provide us salvation from another four years of Obama?

I don’t think Mormons believe they are going to get 72 virgins when they kill Dhimmis, do you?

Oh, good grief.
This is the Religion Forum and the question at hand is about mormonISM.
If you have other questions, why not start your own thread and ask the questions.

In light of ABC's (last) Friday night special on heaven

I saw just a little part of that and Joel Osteen seems to be changing his tune on how to get to Heaven, compared to what he told Larry King. If I didn't mis hear him, he told Barbara Walters that Jesus was the only way. If I heard right, then praise God, somebody must have schooled him a bit on the Bible.

I heard the mormon part too, more mush than I could stomach.

Shouldn’t that be Latter Day Saint instead of Mormon then?

Good grief, indeed.

You post this on a message board where we are constantly reminded of all of the deceptive methods that the MSM uses to advance its agenda.

Your claim that because Colofornia posted this as a Religion thread that it supposedly is only about religion is similarly highly suspect to me.

Do you really believe that FreeRepublic is a viable channel for recruiting new members to the LDS church? Is there a real need to challenge their beliefs? Or is this just some sort of personal ax you are grinding on FR?

My vote is for the latter.

One thing which is going to allow me to hold my nose and vote for a Massachusetts RINO is knowing just how many of these rabid low-life bigots will go totally crazy if Romney makes it over the finish line.

In Mormon majority communities scattered thoughout the Rocky Mountain states, there are voters more conservative than just about anywhere else you can name in the U.S.A., crime rates far lower than comparable sized communities elsewhere, generally fiscally sound policies and educational achievement levels comparable to Jews and Episcopalians. Why do you suppose that is? People practicing a bad religion who just got lucky?

Bottom line is that if I want to know what Mormons (or, for that matter, Catholics or anybody else) believe, I'll look at their website, ask one, or view actual results. The last thing I'll do is ask some whiney, bed wetting bigot with an obvious agenda.

I will write this slowly.
This is the Religion Forum and this is a religious discussion.
Colofornia has been posting in the Religion Forum for nearly a decade exposing mormoISM.
If you were unaware before today, that is on you.
For you to beleive that is some kind of MSM conspiracy is laughable.
Yes, I do beleive that exposing mormonISM is important.
I beleive God Almighty when He commanded us to call out false prophets and false teachings.
If you have a problem with His Word, talk to Him about it, until then I support Colofornian and the rest of the posters who work to expose mormonISM for it’s false teachings and false prophets.
If you are not interested in the discussion don’t get on the Religion Forum - it’s that simple.

wow.

Religion Forum religious discussion and yet..... To bad you did not win the daily prize for new phrase, but you still might make the weekly win with so many new words this week: whiney, bed wetting bigot with an obvious agenda.

Just as a side note, the exposure of mormonISM is using their own words. Oh, yea and your perception of mormon communities, well is just wrong.

And their is an agenda exposure of mommonISM, as God Almighty commanded - call out false teachings and prophets.
