The Lord knoweth the days
of the upright: and their
inheritance shall be for ever.
(Psalm 37:18 )

TOPICS: Prayer
KEYWORDS: heroes; nation; pray
Our merciful Father, we claim and choose to believe Your Word that says that though You bring grief, You will show compassion, so great is Your unfailing love. You do not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men. Lord, according to Your Word, even when five sparrows were sold for two pennies, not one of them was forgotten by You. Indeed, the very hairs of our head are all numbered. Help us never to be afraid; we are worth far more to You than many sparrows. Your anger lasts only a moment, Lord, but Your favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but how we thank You that rejoicing comes in the morning.

Lord Jesus, You asked Your Father to give us a Counselor that would be with us forever-the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept the Holy Spirit, because it neither sees Him or knows Him. But we, Your children in this nation know Him, for He lives with us and is in us. You have not left us as orphans. You came to us. Even though the world does not see You any more. We can see You through the work of Your Holy Spirit. Because You live, we also live. Help us to realize that You, Jesus, are in Your Father, and we are in You, and You are in us, In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Amen, WhatNot

Almighty and Eternal God, . Protect our military as
they discharge their duties. Protect them with the shield
of your strength and keep them safe from all evil and
harm.
May the power of your love enable them to return home
safely to the people who love them and to the gratitude
of the American people..
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
May God Guide Our Nation

Planted In The House Of The Lord

July 23, 2012

After conducting a series of interviews with elderly people, author Don Gold published the book Until the Singing Stops: A Celebration of Life and Old Age in America.

Gold loved and admired his grandmother, and it was the memory of her that moved him to meet and learn from other elderly people. He recalls that on the way to one of his interviews, he got lost on a dusty country road in Missouri. When he pulled into a farm to ask for directions, a teenager came up, listened, shrugged his shoulders, and then replied, “Don’t know.” So he drove on. A few miles farther down the road, he stopped again at a farmhouse. The farmer, who was an old man, graciously gave him flawless directions.

Perhaps, Gold mused, that experience sums up what he was searching for when the memory of his grandmother sent him out to find people like her. He was looking for someone to guide him in his life journey.

If you’re “young,” seek out older people who have been drinking deeply from God’s love and goodness throughout their life. They have wisdom to share that will help you so that you also might flourish and grow in your faith (Ps. 92:12-14).

Dear Jesus, take my heart and hand,
And grant me this, I pray:
That I through Your sweet love may grow
More like You day by day. —Garrison

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these brave men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Amen, to your prayer, my Blessed Brother, in the Holy Name of Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ!

" Love has been perfected among us in this; that we may have boldness in the Day Of Judgement; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us."

~ I John 4:17-19 ~ NKJV
