Of course Jesus does condemn sin, that meaning negatively judging sin as damnable, as does the church, and God thus holds the lost as living in a condemned state, in which the wrath of God abides on them. (Jn. 3:36) God also will finally condemn those who die in their sins in sentencing such according to their works, and grace given. (Rv. 20:10-15; Lk. 12:48; Mt. 23:14) Thus the opposite is true for those who repent and walk in the Spirit. (Jn. 5:24; Rm. 8:4)

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. “ (John 3:18)

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. “ (John 3:19)

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. “ (John 3:36)

“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. “ (Ephesians 5:6)

“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: “ (Colossians 3:5-6)

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: “ (Romans 1:24)

“But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. “ (Romans 2:2)

“Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. “ (1 Timothy 5:12)

“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. “ (Revelation 20:13-14)

It is not possible to say God does not condemn souls without qualifying that as to a sense in which He does not. While it is true that God has not condemned souls in the sense of proactively punishing them according to their culpability, He nevertheless has and does condemn souls because of their unbelief and sins, and thus unless they repent and believe on the Lord Jesus then they will be sentenced for their sins.

But what exactly does this mean for an archdiocese that stretches from Hawaii to Utah? ... Thomas Sheehan, a professor of religious studies at Stanford University, isn't so sure the archbishop will refrain from meddling in priestly business on LGBT or other issues.

Love it, love it, love it.

It certainly dispels of any illusion that the lazy-to-the-bone media have any clue about the mysterious entity known as the "Catholic Church"!

First, the concept that that Archdiocese of San Francisco "stretches from Hawaii to Utah".

Map of Archdiocese (teeny-tiny red areas on map of California):

Second, the concept of an Archbishop "meddling in priestly business."

Something like "an officer meddling in enlisted men's business" or "St. Paul meddling in Timothy and Titus' business."

Journalists get paid to do this kind of "work".

Verily, it is to hoot.

I sincerely hope he remains strong in the expected firestorm of controversy he is sure to face in the coming days. I just read today about a local businessman who is returning his Eagle Scout badge to the BSA group, claiming he had hoped they would “do the right thing” and drop their ban on homosexuals in the Scouts. It made me think of what Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.”
