Apologies on my post to Markomalley’s thread announcing the appointment of Persico to replace Trautman in the Eriie Diocese. I mistakenly place the diocese in NY instead of PA. Here is the detailed background and information on Bishop-elect Persico.

It seemed at one time that this day would never come, not here , not in Los Angeles, not in San Francisco, not in Green Bay, not in Phoenix, etc. But orthodox, obedient, holy men have finally come to these places where liturgical narcissism and theological relativism held sway.
God bless Pope Benedict!

“In 2008, he was named a monsignor with the title of Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II.”
I don’t think so.

While continuing as pastor, Bishop-designate Persico was appointed moderator of the curia, vicar general and the bishop's delegate for clergy sexual abuse in 2005 by Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt of Greensburg. Bishop-designate Parisco was promoted by Bishop Trautman to these positions. I do not know anything about him but this does not fill me with confidence. If anyone knows more about him please tell me that my suspicions are unfounded.
