Pray for our American Heroes
August 4, 2012 | Irish Rose

Posted on 08/04/2012 12:14:34 PM PDT by Irish Rose

So I said:
“Do not take me away, O my God, in the midst of my days;
your years go on through all generations.
In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.”
(Psalm 102:24-27)

Dear Father, we pray to You in faith that You hear us and will answer us, according to Your perfect will.

Lord, we pray for our troops who are returning from battlefield deployments, that You would give them peace, and healing as they need it. We pray for those who will be seeking employment, that You would provide it.

Father, during this time of Ramadan, we ask You to reveal Yourself to many Muslim hearts, and set them free from the lies of Islam.

Lord, in the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. When the earth was formless and empty, You divided it into sea and sky and land, and filled it with life. You pierced the darkness with light and made the sun and moon and stars. All of these perish, but you remain, unchanged through every generation. The universe will wear out like a garment, and like clothing You will change them and they will be discarded. But You remain the same, and Your years will never end. We worship You – the great I AM, the First and Last, the Beginning and the End – in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these brave men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

“I have never accepted what many people have kindly said, namely that I have inspired the nation. It was the nation and the race dwelling all around the globe that had the lion heart. I had the luck to be called upon to give the roar.”

I apologize for the Winston Churchill post - I was testing it and inadvertently clicked on the post button rather than the preview button.
