Stick around n00b, you may eventually figure it out, if you actually want to. Dont be taken in by quotes taken out of context.
.
.
.Colonic will post the links tot he threads, so you can read the quoptes in full context.
Or by those CLAIMING that being out-of-context somehow destroys the credibility of the QUOTE.
Perhaps YOU could post the whole thing, and SHOW how the context makes a difference.

Not LDS either. Glad theres no religious test required for public office, and glad were not looking to elect the national preacher.Thank GOD you see the difference!!
Office of First President & Living Prophet®: November 1st, 2011
The message for this month is -
Primaries are coming up REAL soon; so we MUST stay on our mantra:
We are NOT electing a pastor/pope, but a PRESIDENT!!
We've been taking a beating on the Internet - especially from those hateful ANTIs on FreeRepublic!
We MUST keep the media constantly informed of those things the world considers christian.
We must NOT allow our MORMONness to show thru, as it has gotten a really bad rap thru history - lord only knows why...

Romney has made it clear he supports Christian values, which is important, but beyond that I see no reason not to vote for someone just because they are LDS. No; he has SWORN allegiance to LDS, Inc.
IT's 'values' are a bit different than the ones espoused by Christ!

Romney has made it clear he supports Christian values, which is important, but beyond that I see no reason not to vote for someone just because they are LDS. Romney has taken this oath more than once in a mormon temple, as other "worthy" mormons have done. IMO, if a man running for POTUS puts his religion ABOVE this country, I see that as a valid reason to withhold my vote for him.
You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the Law of Consecration as contained in the Doctrine and Covenants, in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the Kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion."

Is it your understanding that the religion forum is the place to attack Obama, using the religion forum for political purposes rather than for discussion of religious issues?

The issue of the thread was the religion, not making a political attack on Romney. I understand how that ‘nuance’ escapes you. And if you want to spend the time going back to 2007 in posting history, you can have all the fun you want making this personal in order to support colonic’s misuse of the religion forum. But I have better things to do today than get caught up in your sudden desire to make it personal playing petty games with you and MS Colonic.

Your posts indicate you would not vote for someone for public office solely based on their being LDS.
Fine. I think that’s unwise; and, we’re never gonna change each other’s mind on the issue.

So; the ability to detect error in the Spiritual realm has no bearing in this case for you?I disagree with a whole lot more folks than just LDS on their 'error in the Spiritual realm.'
But I don't automatically not consider voting for LDS - or protestants.
Particularly when they're running against a secular humanist.

That's a pretty vague accusation.

You are aware of oaths in Freemasonry, correct? Loyalty to their rite, lodge and fellow masons over and against all.
Additionally, on the point of the oath you posted: I am part of the body of Christ, His Church. Devoting, consecrating myself to His Church to the Kingdom of God and Christ’s mission on earth.. I believe would be a good thing.
The oath you posted seems much the same to me, consecrating themselves to the Church and it’s mission on earth. It certainly seems less than the blood oaths of Freemasonry.
I believe LDS is heretical to the Catholic Church, as I do Freemasonry. However, I would not automatically reject voting for either solely based on their church or lodge membership. Members of either can be fine men and worthy political office holders.
I don’t believe Romney is a stealthy mormon, bent on grand conspiracy to have the LDS rule the country. I compare these kinds of attacks similarly to those against Catholics such as Al Smith and JFK.
I think we disagree here. :)

The oath you posted seems much the same to me, consecrating themselves to the Church and its mission on earth. It certainly seems less than the blood oaths of Freemasonry. Up until 1990, there were death oaths in the mormon temple ceremony.
I dont believe Romney is a stealthy mormon, bent on grand conspiracy to have the LDS rule the country.
You are welcome to your belief. As am I.

Is it your understanding that the religion forum is the place to attack Obama, using the religion forum for political purposes rather than for discussion of religious issues? It is my understanding that there WILL be collateral damage to a 'believer' in certain ideas whenever those ideas are being discussed and 'attacked'.The little kid who shouted, "The king has no clothes!" was evidently not informed by his betters that it was not good form to do so.

The issue of the thread was the religion, not making a political attack on Romney. Not the way I read it!
The 'title' of the thread indicates 'religion', but the first COMMENT of the thread shows how the TEACHINGS of the MORMON religious Empire may have affected the thought processes of a certain man who wants to be in charge of this country.
How can that be a BAD thing?
