Republicans Set to Endorse Two-State Solution at Convention Next Week
The Times of Israel ^ | August 22, 2012 | Unattributed

The Republican Party’s platform is expected to include support for a two-state solution in the Middle East.

The platform committee, meeting in Tampa, Fla., on Tuesday, rejected three amendments that would have removed language supportive of a two-state solution, according to a delegate who put forward two of the amendments.

Subtitle: "Romney camp blocks efforts to amend its proposed party platform"

And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who [a]curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

Isaac Targets Florida, Eastern Gulf

"After interacting with Hispaniola and crossing Cuba this weekend, Isaac will turn its sights to Florida and the eastern Gulf of Mexico next week."

"According to Dan Kottlowski, head of the AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center, "Given Isaac's current position and momentum in the Caribbean, the storm is much more likely to track into the Gulf of Mexico than to track along the east coast of Florida."

"It is very rare for tropical storms or hurricanes to move from south to north over the heart of the Florida Peninsula after coming from this area of the Caribbean".

Florida Prepares for Isaac

I guess the Republicans should check Genesis 12:3 to see if they can find an exemption for themselves for the curse God sends on those who curse His covenant nation before they add the dividing of God's land to the party platform.

Create the separate state, shut up the Palestinians and get ourselves out of the mess.

Cut off foreign aid to Israel, too. Modern countries don’t need billions of dollars in aid. Cut off all aid, for that matter.

two-state solution in the Middle East Israel

Oxymoron.

How many times will the Palestinian "Authority" have to say and show that they will not rest until Israel and the Jews are wiped off the face of the earth?

I find it odd that "the strongest supports of Israel" are jumping on the let's-force-Israel-to-give-up-half-her-land-to-Muslim-savages-who-have-vowed-to-exterminate-every-Jew bandwagon.

I find it odd that the people who have historically claimed to be the party of Christianity have thrown in with Democrats in rejecting Scripture and what God has to say about those who act to harm Israel and the Jewish people.

There are many oddities going on these days.

The two state solution has been in the GOP platform for over a decade. There is nothing new here.

What is new is supposed "conservatives" going into hysterics about it while staying oddly silent on the Democrats complete abandonment of Israel during the 0 regime.

“I find it odd that the strongest supporters of Israel are condemned while Obama and the Democrats complete abandonment of Israel gets NO mention from the complainers.”

Exactly.

Obama has slashed US foreign aid to Israel to only 3 billion dollars per year and the people and State of Israel suffer.

There must only be one state in the Middle East and that is Israel as she must return to her orginal biblical borders.

If the Republicans had any brains, their official convention platform would consist of this:

1. We stand for the dignity of every human being

2. We believe in people

3. We oppose poverty and unfairness

4. We support truth

And nothing more specific than that.

Don’t give ‘em anything they can hang you with.

A “two-state solution” is stupid when one state wants to murder every living person in the other state, so let’s not take that path with Israel. Now, if the far left would go for a two state solution in the United States, that would be a great option. Decent people don’t want liberals dead, we just want them out of our wallets. Socialists don’t want us dead, they just want what they see as their share of what we produce. Separate us from them, and we can happily live our own lives, while they happily submit to an increasingly powerful and intrusive government.

The abandonment of Israel by Barack Obama has been covered on this forum countless times during his "presidency". There is no surprise in a Muslim communist throwing Israel to the wolves and doing everything he can to harm them.

The fact that the "conservative" Republican party, which has obviously lied to the American people over the last decade in claiming to adhere to Scripture when they have a platform that includes dividing God's land in the face of a promise of God to curse anyone who harms Israel and the promise that the nations who participate in dividing His land will be judged, continues to keep the dividing of God's land in the platform and the fact that the Republican presidential candidate shut down all efforts to remove the dividing of God's land from the platform, exposes the Republicans to be on the same level as Democrats.

Why don`t we just stop trying to be the world policeman and let them resolve their own problems. They have cash, they BUY weapons, with THEIR own money. NO MORE AID (freebies) to ANYBODY. You want it, get a job and buy it, here and abroad! And drill, baby, drill, that way they can use their oil for enemas, or the Euro-weenies can fight for it.

TEN MAJOR EVENTS
(Relating to Israel’s Covenant Land) 1. October 30,
1991: The Perfect Storm—As President George H. W. Bush
is opening the Madrid (Spain) Conference to consider
“land for peace” in Israel’s Middle East role, the
“perfect storm” develops in the North Atlantic,
creating the largest waves ever recorded in that
region. The storm travels 1000 miles from “east to
west” instead of the normal “west to east” pattern and
crashes into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot
waves crash into the Kennebunkport home of President
Bush.

2. August 23, 1992: Hurricane Andrew—When the Madrid
Conference moves to Washington DC and the peace talks
resume, Hurricane Andrew, the worst natural disaster
ever to hit America, comes ashore and produces an
estimated $30 billion in damage and leaving 180,000
homeless in Florida.

3. January 16, 1994: Northridge Earthquake—President
Bill Clinton meets with Syria’s President Hafez
el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement
with Israel that includes giving up the Golan Heights.
Within 24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks
Southern California, This quake, centered in
Northridge, becomes the second most destructive
natural disaster to hit the United States, behind
Hurricane Andrew,

4. January 21, 1998: Lewinsky Scandal—Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President
Clinton at the White House and is coldly received.
Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
refuse to have lunch with him. Shortly afterwards on
that day, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks into the
mass media and begins to occupy a major portion of
Clinton’s time.

5. September 28, 1998: Hurricane George—As Secretary
of State Albright works on the final details of an
agreement in which Israel would give up 13 percent of
Yesha (Judah and Samaria), Hurricane George slams into
the United States Gulf Coast with 110 mph winds and
gusts up to 175 mph. The hurricane hits the coast and
stalled. On September 28, Clinton meets with Yasser
Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize
this land deal. Later, Arafat addresses the United
Nations about declaring an independent Palestinian
state by May 1999, as Hurricane George pounds the Gulf
Coast, causing $1 billion in damage. At the exact time
that Arafat departs the country, the storm begins to
dissipate.

6. October 15-22, 1998: Texas Flooded—On October 15,
1998, Arafat and Netanyahu meet at the Wye River
Plantation in Maryland. The talks are scheduled to
last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13
percent of Yesha. The talks are extended and conclude
on October 23. On October 17, awesome rains and
tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is
deluged with rain. The rain and flooding in Texas
continue until October 22 and then subside. The floods
ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion
dollars in damage. On October 21, Clinton declares
this section of Texas a major disaster area.

7. November 30, 1998: Market Capitalization
Evaporates—Arafat comes to Washington again to meet
with President Clinton to raise money for a
Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. A
total of 42 other nations were represented in
Washington. All the nations agreed to give Arafat $3
billion in aid. Clinton promised $400 million, and the
European nations $1.7 billion. On the same day, the
Dow Jones average drops 216 points, and on December 1,
the European Market had its third worst day in
history. Hundreds of billions of market capitalization
were wiped out in the U.S. and Europe.

8. December 12, 1998: Clinton is Impeached—As Clinton
lands in the Palestinian-controlled section of Israel
to discuss the “land for peace” process, the House of
Representatives votes four articles of impeachment
against him.

9. May 3, 1999: The Powerful Super Tornado—On the day
that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a
Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital, the
most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the
United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The
winds are clocked at 316 mph the fastest wind speed
ever recorded. The declaration is postponed to
December 1999 at the request of President Clinton,
whose letter to Arafat encourages him in his
“aspirations for his own land.” He also writes that
the Palestinians have a right to “determine their own
future on their own land” and that they deserve to
“live free, today, tomorrow and forever.”

10. Week of October 11: Hurricane, Earthquake and Dow
Collapse—As Jewish settlers in 15 West Bank (Israel)
settlements are evicted from the covenant land in
Israel, the Dow-Jones financial averages lose 5.7
percent in the worst week since October 1989. On
October 15 the Dow lost 266 points, and a hurricane
slams into North Carolina. On the next morning,
October 16, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake rocks the
southwest in the fifth most powerful earthquake in
20th Century. The earthquake was centered in the
California desert and did little damage but was felt

The two state solution has been in the GOP platform for over a decade. There is nothing new here.

Shhhhhh!! You're injecting reason!

And, in case some think you're pulling a fast one, here's the language from the 2008 party platform (bold is mine):

Israel

Israel is a vigorous democracy, unique in the Middle East. We reaffirm America's commitment to Israel's security and will ensure that Israel maintains a qualitative edge in military technology over any potential adversaries. Israel must have secure, defensible borders and we support its right to exist as a Jewish state able to defend itself against homicide bombings, rocket and mortar fire, and other attacks against its people. We support the vision of two democratic states living in peace and security: Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, and Palestine. For that to become a reality, the Palestinian people must support leaders who reject terror, embrace the institutions and ethos of democracy, and respect the rule of law. We call on Arab governments throughout the region to help advance that goal. We support Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and moving the American embassy to that undivided capital of Israel.

The U.S. seeks a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, negotiated between the parties themselves, without the imposition of an artificial timetable, and without the demand that Israel deal with entities which continue to pledge her destruction. At the heart of any peace process must be a mutual commitment to resolve all issues through negotiation. Part of that process must be a just, fair, and realistic framework for dealing with the Palestinian refugee issue. Like all other elements in a meaningful agreement, this matter can be settled only on the basis of mutually agreed changes that reflect today's realities as well as tomorrow's hopes.

And a quote from 2004 (Acrobat PDF):

We support President Bush’s vision of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security. However, as he observed in his remarks of June 24, 2002, for such a vision to become a reality, Palestinians need a new leadership, not compromised by terror. Like all other people, Palestinians deserve a government that serves their interests and listens to their voices. If Palestinians embrace democracy and the rule of law, confront corruption, and firmly reject terror, they can count on American support for the creation of a Palestinian state. The Bush Administration has been clear about the obligations of Arab nations in achieving peace in the Middle East.

God says what He means and means what He says. There is no exemption for anyone in Genesis 12:3, and He will, as He has shown time and time again, curse those who curse His people.

As, I'm afraid, Florida is about to find out thanks to the Republican party making a choice to stand with those who will divide God's land.

It's not that I believe that the Republican Party stands for Christianity, it's that I was hoping a Republican victory would buy us a little time.

But this stance now puts a GOP victory in question, as I believed--alternately--that God would have given a victory to 'us' were 'we' to stand for Him. But now--in His eyes--there is no differnce between the '2' so He will will simply, "use what He already has."
Brace for impact!

There is no so-called ‘palestine’, but for the Roman appellation. Nor are there any ‘palestinians’ other than various conglomerations of predominantly islamist arabs who should be killed en masse as they themselves call for their martyrdom, but which Israel, for whatever God forsaken reason, has decided it must put up with.

I find it odd that the people who have historically claimed to be the party of Christianity have thrown in with Democrats in rejecting Scripture

Unfortunately, ever since the eighteenth century "enlightenment" G-d has been treated as toxic by all politicians, no matter how conservative. Pragmatism has been the name of the game for over two hundred years. Now we don't outlaw murder because it's a violation of the commandments of G-d but because "if everyone went around murdering each other society would fall apart." Even the movements against abortion and "gay marriage" don't invoke G-d but rather "rights" and societal stability ("if we allow gay marriage, our civilization will rot!"). As if G-d were completely peripheral to the issue.

Not a single American politician, no matter how "chrstian," conservative, or dispensational, will ever invoke the name of G-d when supporting Israel. And of course the "official" Jewish community kicked G-d out of the picture years ago, supporting Israel because of the Holocaust and "democracy" ("Israel's the only country in the Middle East with gay rights!").

You'd think that one day one good dispensational politician would introduce G-d into the conversation, but it never happens. I'd certainly like to know what cows them.

and what God has to say about those who act to harm Israel and the Jewish people.

Chrstians have historically simply appropriated "Israel" to mean their own nations. While dispensationalism is a strong counter to this, historically the other position came first. Unfortunately, the only chrstians who invoke "G-d" are usually the anti-Semites who think the United States is "Israel" ("America, the Bible Land!").

You're absolutely correct, onedoug.

Israel puts up with the torment because they know that no matter what they do the world will come down on them in condemnation, and they know that the Arabs don't want peace, they want the Jews to cease to exist.

Israel is sick and tired of war and will do almost anything to stop the constant and ruthless persecution.

Israel's God is going to destroy their enemies, and that time is upon us, but in the meantime, little Israel is just trying to keep from being exterminated by the fuzzy-faced demons that surround her.

"Chrstians have historically simply appropriated "Israel" to mean their own nations."

Since someone has to defend Christianity, it might as well be a Catholic.

Biblical Israel is not a traditional nation or even a non-traditional nation. It is not an ancient nation or a modern nation. Israel was and is a people; the people of Jacob, the people of God. It is now comprised of the grafted on vine; the visible Church established by Jesus. It is the Catholic Church.

Peace be to you.

Notice the language in Ezekiel regarding Gog and the land, nowhere does it say Gog attacks Israel, it says "Gog shall come against the land of Israel" (38:18).

Which means Palestinian State!

Ezekiel 38
18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “that My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken:

At the same time...tick tock!

Notice that every time there’s talk about a Palestinian State the weather turns very bad.

Madrid Conference of 1991

The Madrid Conference was hosted by the government of Spain and co-sponsored by the USA and the USSR. It convened on October 30, 1991 and lasted for three days. It was an early attempt by the international community to start a peace process through negotiations involving Israel and the Arab countries including Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and the Palestinians. In the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War, US President George H.W. Bush and his Secretary of State James Baker formulated the framework of objectives, and together with the Soviet Union extended a letter of invitation, dated October 30, 1991 to Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Palestinians.

The Palestinian team, due to Israeli objections, was initially formally a part of a joint Palestinian-Jordanian delegation and consisted of Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza without open PLO association like Saeb Erekat, Faisal Husseini, Hanan Ashrawi and Haidar Abdel-Shafi, the head of the delegation, who were however in constant communication with the PLO leadership in Tunis.

The purpose of the conference was to serve as an opening forum for the participants and had no power to impose solutions or veto agreements. It inaugurated negotiations on both bilateral tracks and on multilateral tracks that also involved the international community. The Syrian and Lebanese negotiators agreed on a common strategy…

…'The idea is not to go backwards but to return to the basic formula that was established in Madrid: the exchange of land for peace,

At the end of the Madrid conference all participating countries appeared hopeful that the conference had resulted in a future road-map for reconciliation. The closing remarks presented below illustrate this hopeful sentiment:

Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir , 1 November 1991 “With an open heart, we call on the Arab leaders to take the courageous step and respond to our outstretched hand in peace” [8]

Head of the Palestinian Delegation, Haydar Abd al-Shafi, 1 November 1991
“To the cosponsors and to the international community that seeks the achievement of a just peace in the Middle East, you have given us a fair hearing. You cared enough to listen and for that we thank you. Thank you.” [9]

The Perfect Storm

October 1991

An enormous extratropical low is creating havoc along the entire Eastern Atlantic Seaboard in this infrared image at 1200 UTC (0700 EST) on October 30, 1991. Labelled the 'perfect storm' by the National Weather Service, the storm sank the swordfishing boat Andrea Gail, whose story became the basis for the currently best-selling novel 'The Perfect Storm' by Sebastian Junger. A little-known and bizarre ending came to this monster, which came to be known as the Halloween Storm. To tell this incredible story in its entirety, the Satellite's Eye Art Gallery spans two subject headings (Extratropical Cyclones and Hurricanes)!

And!

Final Israeli Settlement in Gaza Evacuated

The final Israeli settlement in the Gaza Strip has been evacuated, ending the historic pullout from the area which Israel has controlled since winning it during the Six Day War in 1967. Between 1948 and 1967, Gaza was under Egyptian occupation.

With the Gaza withdrawal all but completed, Israeli troops prepared to leave the coastal strip and hand over control to the Palestinian Authority.

The last settlers and their protester supporters wrapped up a Torah scroll and a large menorah and boarded a fleet of armored buses to leave the area. Israeli troops will soon head to the West Bank to begin the evacuation of the four settlements that are to be evacuated there.

Major General Dan Harel, head of Israel's southern command, declared the evacuation of Gaza over.

Effect of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans

The effect of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans, Louisiana was catastrophic and long-lasting. As the center of Katrina passed east of New Orleans on August 29, 2005, winds were in the Category 2 range, and tidal surge was equivalent to about a Category 3 hurricane. Though the most severe portion of Katrina missed the city, the storm surge caused more than 50 breaches in drainage canal levees and also in navigational canal levees and precipitated the worst engineering disaster in US history. [1]

By August 31, 2005, eighty percent of New Orleans was flooded, with some parts under 15 feet of water. Most of the city's levees designed and built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers were breached, including the 17th Street Canal levee, the Industrial Canal levee, and the London Avenue Canal floodwall. These breaches are responsible for at least two-thirds of the flooding according to a June 2007 report by the American Society of Civil Engineers. [2]

Ninety percent of the residents of southeast Louisiana were evacuated in the most successful evacuation of a major urban area in the nation's history. Despite this, many remained (mainly the elderly and poor). The Louisiana Superdome was used as a designated 'refuge of last resort' for those who remained in the city. The city flooded due primarily to the failure of the federally built levee system. Many who remained in their homes had to swim for their lives, wade through deep water, or remain trapped in their attics or on their rooftops.

Less than two weeks after Gaza was evacuated (of Jews) New Orleans was hit by hurricane Katrina, nuff said. Take note, when this administration talks about a Palestinian State the weather gets rough!

The Madrid Conference, the Perfect Storm, Gaza Evacuated, Katrina evacuates New Orleans and keep watching there will be more!

And more is here

Gog cometh. Well actually he's been here a while. The Perfect Storm started in 91 with Madrid and 41. Just look at the peace process line up:

George HW Bush
William Jefferson Clinton
George W Bush
Barack Obama

IOW,

גוג בא

= "Gog comes" / "Gog came"

The platform committee, meeting in Tampa, Fla., on Tuesday, rejected three amendments that would have removed language supportive of a two-state solution

Oh look, here comes Isaac.

Funny how the words meshech and tubal have to do with water deliveries.

Man will never learn. Don't mess with Israel.

Zechariah 12:2-3

"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it..."

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Aye carumba. They do not understand what is coming.

And they (anyone) doesn’t or rarely believes you when you tell them.

When it all comes down the world will demand to know why somebody didn’t warn them.

But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.
