Rabbi Dov Lipman didnt plan to spend his morning cleaning anti-Christian graffiti off of the wall of a monastery.
But the American-born Beit Shemesh activist said that it was impossible for him to walk away from the 122 year-old Latrun monastery while it was still bore the marks of the vandalism that took place a day earlier after its door was set on fire and it was defaced with hateful graffiti...
When we were just about to leave and workers were cleaning the door of the monastery that was lit on fire, and there was a guy who was scrubbing that said Jesus was a monkey. .. I asked if we could help clean it away. At first, the worker cleaning it hesitated, but then he gave me his brush and cleaning solution, and we didnt walk away until it was removed. Im glad we did. It was wonderful to be part of the tikkun (repair.)
..I thought to myself - here are people who live with us so peacefully and are so supportive and to think that they had to experience someone desecrating their holy site in such a horrific manner. I felt I had to do something. Its not the kind of thing where you can sit back and say what a shame and move on.
..a group of six Beit Shemesh residents made the trip - a mix of secular, national religious, and to Lipmans delight, a member of the ultra-orthodox community.

And we would do the same for Rabbi. May G-d Bless you for your kindness.
Indeed. May He bless him and keep him.
You will never hear this fact uttered by a Liberal regarding Christianity and Judaism.
The gutter dwelling Muslims, on the other hand, can't get along with anybody.
If I’ve misread your comments, I apologize but in the full article it is clear that this hateful crime was committed by a Jewish group as payback for the governments decision to close their community.
I agree with you completely about the disgusting mass of errors known as islam.
Suspected, NOT "clear"
well, not even a jewish GROUP, but it seems like some folks who were jewish did it — it doesn’t seem organized.
It’s clear to me from the article I read. If you drew a different conclusion, that’s your interpretation.
Sounds like the work of a 13-year old. Why do they think it is part of the 'price tag' incidents? Those have previously targeted Muslims.
Amen!
I didn’t see who commited the crime but was just commenting on the relatoinships that *some* Christians and Jews are able to have.
I didn’t see who did it eitherbut I did read the full article. The fact that the Israeli officials have a pet name for this sort of tagging tell me they understand the crime pretty well and know who’s behind it. Also, as diseased and criminal as islam is, its deluded adherents revere Jesus as an important prophet and would be unlikely to use the word monkey to describe Him.
Yes, it is compelling to see the warm relationship between most of the Christians and Jews in the area; point taken.

“full article it is clear that this hateful crime was committed by a Jewish group as payback for the governments decision to close their community.”
Actually, no evidence of who did it.
But that is the usual suspect, and for good reason.
It could just as equally been some kid who wears black figner nail polish, listens to bad music, and no one under standard him.
