Libya: there is good reason to ban the hateful anti-Muhammad YouTube clips
The Guardian ^ | September 12, 2012 | Andrew Brown

The material I have viewed, said to be linked to the US embassy attack, is purely and simply an incitement to religious hatred.

I have just watched a YouTube video of clips from a film which, it is claimed, provoked the attack on the American embassy in Libya. It is impossible to completely authenticate them at this stage, or exclude the possibility the clips could have been doctored in some way by the uploaders. However, we do know that the film has been linked to riots in Egypt and the attack in Benghazi in which four embassy staff, including the ambassador, were killed. It's a really nasty piece of lying propaganda: something which deserves to be called hate speech, since hatred is its wellspring and the propagation of hatred is its goal.

It is – obviously – blasphemous to Muslims. Less obviously, it offends against the central values of liberal democracy. The justification of free speech put forward by John Stuart Mill is that the remedy for bad speech is better speech. But this presupposes an interest in truth, and perhaps some agreed means of deciding on it. It's a system that breaks down when confronted with determined and malevolent liars.

The film portrays Muhammad as a pathetic fraud, a child molester. He is an unwanted bastard at birth, and only gains his self-confidence after an older woman summons the cringing young man to her tent and pushes his head under her skirts where he nuzzles her crotch. When he emerges, he has seen visions...

Pretty much every article in the Guardian is an incitement to religious hatred against believing Christians—especially Catholics. Perhaps we should ban it too?

Most People today weren't around during WW-II, when then-active media did their bit against enemy leaders such as Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito.

One should never forget.

Our current enemies are religious fanatics.

All the comments seemed to disagree with Andy.

So much so the “Guardian” closed the comments page....

Good question. It may not matter. Like the Danish cartoons, it will continue to swirl around the dar al islam.

The total lack of a sense of humor is one of islam's greatest weaknesses. They have a glass jaw and should be hit, not molleycoddled. They can't handle any "insult" to Mad Mo. All the more reason to insult him.

Hopefully, Andrew Brown will be Daniel Pearl's replacement.

He can show us how to properly supplicate to adherents of the Religion of Piece.

The glass jaw is nowhere so evident as with Mecca. Blow the place to hell, render the kaaba radioactive dust, and watch the roaches scurry under any rocks available. Islam will cease to exist.

All that I have to say to those who may have been offended by this “movie”: Google Hamas Mickey Mouse and tell me what you think about THAT! Just because something is inciteFUL does not mean that those offended should resort to killing. IMO, this movie was just the latest excuse for Terrorists to kill and make their next moves. What does the West do? We censor the movie.

It seems obvious to me that the author hasn’t read any part of the Qu’ran nor the Sunnah, nor the Hadith if he thinks the criticisms are imaginary. It is quite obvious to anyone who has made a relatively cursory inquiry into Islam that Muhammad was indeed a paedophile, a murderer and a thief. Its all there in black and white.

Its also pretty offensive that he thinks muslims ought to have special protection from being offended because they behave like violent children whenever they hear something they don’t like.

Today I watched two major asswipes on CNN, George Stephonapolus and Amonpour come to the conclusion that insulting Islam should not be given free speech any more than calling fire in a crowded theater.

I must say that after watching similar statements on MSNBC I am coming to the conclusion that these episodes are going to be used by our traitor left to attack Christianity. It’s coming folks.

I saw that video as well, and you know what? That is from Mohamed’s own story about himself. It should be a major motion picture like the Ten Commandments, so that everyone can see what a dickhead and lunatic he really was.

The Guardian comments seem to line up against Mr. Brown’s censorship position.

Like muslims have any interest in truth. And like they never engage in hate speech.

Like appeasement has done so much for the UK. They are now basically ruled by their godless immigrants.

Anywhere you see the word hate speech —you know it’s coming from a leftie.

Or here on FR, if you dare question whether Mormonism is Christianity. So perhaps it really isn't just a lefty gig. But it certainly is a popular and useful way to shut down reasoned debate.

“Obama Obama There Are A Billion Osamas”

.
Many of them reside here, are born daily in our hospitals and are immigrating here.

And Congress just sits there sucking its thumb.
