The West Is Following A Vain Imagination...Psalm 2 pt 2 ^ | 09-15-12 | Bill Randles

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. (Psalm 2:1-4)

The events of this past few weeks have underscored for me again the message of the second Psalm. The heathen(Nations) do indeed rage, and the people are enflamed because of a vain imagination. We looked in the last post about the vain imagination that incites the Muslim world, and is the cause of the more than 20,000 major terror attacks since 9-11, 2001.

The Muslim world vainly believes it’s centuries old cultural stagnation, humiliation and frustration at being an inferior civilization could be removed, by returning to Allah, and waging Jihad on the infidels, and especially by wiping Israel out of existence. Supposedly, only then would Islam be restored to her rightful supremacy over the world.

But the Muslim world are by definition “the Heathen”. The “gods” of the nations are nothings, so we would expect that the Muslim world would be in the grip of a vain Imagination.

But the formerly Christian (in cultural influence) West, has come under the spell of an equally powerful, yet vain imagination. In fact this “vain Imagination” is what the Psalmist is referring to here, when he says that they shall say “Let us cast away their cords from us...”. Only those once ‘bound’ by those cords, could rebel against them in this fashion.

What are those “cords” and “bands” that the Kings of the earth and their rulers conspire to cast away from themselves and their societies? Consider the word “Religion”. It is a word that means “binding”, or that which you are “bound to”. My religion is my bondage (blessed bondage!).

For centuries the Western world has thrived under the influence of the Judeo Christian religion. This is what has shaped our western worldview, as well as our institutions, morals and traditions. I am not saying that we were all christian by definition, but there has long been a christian consensus in our culture.

The “Kings of the earth and their rulers” is a reference that goes far beyond the political or governmental, but includes all of the “cultural elite”; the academics, leaders in Media, religion, law, medicine, philosophy, in short “the experts” in all fields.

What have they done? They have all taken counsel against “the LORD and HIS Messiah”, seeking to break our society away from the constrictions of the Christian religion. Thus the social revolution of the past 100 years.

They actually imagine that man can create a “bold new world” without God and Christ, and that they are on the verge of doing so.

Where have they taken this counsel together ?

It is not as though there has been a secret meeting of some sinister cabal somewhere plotting this way. The counsel has been taken, year after year, and decade after decade in and through the educational system of the West, in our schools and universities, all of which have been taken over by secular humanists.

The higher one goes in academia, the more intense the hostility to the Judeo Christian outlook is inculcated. This is why there is such an amazing consensus among our “ruling elite”.

The thinking in which the leading figures of so many fields agree is basically anti-christian. The Universities have steeped the movers and shakers of the world into a worldview of godless materialism, and the Psalmist saw it centuries before Christ!

After four or five generations of this, the resistance to the religion of the LORD and of his Christ becomes open and near universal.Consider the recent DNC convention in which a major political party in the USA voted “God and Jerusalem” out of their party platform.

In the days leading up to our recent Sept 11, 2011 embassy attacks, Hilary Clinton the Secretary of State, was embarking on an official outreach to ensure the rights of Gay and Lesbian Arabs in Palestine. The same administration has actually withheld funding from African countries which resist “gay marriage”! Our military, stationed in many Muslim lands, has been homosexualized. And we wonder why they despise us?

Our elites are striving to create a godless Utopia. They have been systematically destroying the former Judeo Christian edifice, redefining marriage, morality, and even the value of life itself. Along with the implementation of the “vain thing” comes a corresponding war on the former ideal which captured the imagination of a good part of the western world for centuries, the Judeo Christian vision for a just and civil society.

The earlier Marxist experiments to make a godless paradise on earth were all manifestly miserable failures, but that doesn’t stop the elites from still believing.

In service of the “vain Imagination” all trappings of the religion of the LORD and His Christ ” have to be removed. Thus the removal of the ten commandments from public courthouses, and school walls, the vigorous revision of history to eradicate all that is God honoring from our heritage, the open hostility to any public acknowledgment of God.

One vain Imagination has led to another in our topsy-turvy world. If there is no god, why should marriage be sacred? Why should a human life be any more sacred than an animals? Why go through the inconvenience of having children?

As a consequence of the “vain Imagination” has come the disastrous “sexual revolution” the feminist revolt against the God ordained roles of male and female, the abortion genocide, “homosexual marriage” , and a host of other ills which are ravaging the west at this time. These Utopias always end up resembling hell.

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us…

In the end the “tolerant” always viciously attack the religion of the LORD and of His Christ. It seems obvious that even in the West anti christian persecution is coming, in the name of the “Civil Rights”of those who were once “oppressed”by christians.

The vain imagination is addictive, no matter how many times it has manifestly failed, it is an image, an idol, therefore the allegiance to it runs deep, and it is spiritual! It is vain, empty, and based on false premises. Did the so called sexual revolution, give us anything other than heartbreak, the dissolution of the home, the corruption of innocence and the death of all real love?

But still they cling to it, they tell themselves we really are better off than ever before! Liberated! (From what? – love, commitment, loyalty, selflessness, marriage and the role of male and female? That’s liberation?) What a nightmare we have created in the West! Two school children in the United Kingdom took the summer holiday as boys and came back to school as “girls”- having been given sex change operations at the age of 9 and 12! Such societies cannot last too much longer. As God has said in the book of Proverbs, “All they that hate me love death”.

One place where the Kings of the earth meet to take counsel against the LORD and his Christ, is at the U.N..The time we live in now is uniquely applicable to many prophecies because never before has there been a forum for the “Kings of the earth” to meet together and take counsel, until 1948 when the U.N. was founded.

The U.N. consistently supports the “Vain Imagination” that we can build a world that is godless, and Christless, and improve on the old world that was once dominated by a Judeo Christian consensus. The brave new world is doomed to fail, but not for lack of human effort.

God will have few things to say about it.

Good story, it is plain that every thing is coming to pass just as has been revealed in the scriptures, for instance the jews returning to their home land in 1948.

As far as religion is concerned i think religion has taken the place of where faith is supposed to be, and made too many mistakes in order to teach men that responsibility comes with being free.

In 1 cor 11: 14
Paul says Doth not even nature itself teach you,

It appears that unwittingly many churches actually teach against nature in their quest to make people to fit what they believe to be the image of Christ they are teaching exactly the same thing as what the world teaches.

If both men and women are to be an image of Christ they would have to be the same and that is very much against nature.

Jesus said, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

But so many churches to day, although many of then do preach the truth they also go beyond preaching what Jesus said.

While it is plain that drunkenness is not good, many preachers will forbid even taking a drink, no drinking, no smoking, no nothing.

Where did Jesus say anything like that?

Don,t pull little girls pigtails, ( i knew that little girls were different than little boys ) i don,t know how many times i was told that but it was not the preacher preaching the word of God it was my mother.

Jesus said that when we see these things coming to pass, to look up because redemption is near, look to God because he is our path for eternal life this world will pass.
