Bishop Joseph Devine's Auschwitz Abortion Image Link Condemned [UK]

Pro-choice campaigners have condemned a Scottish Roman Catholic Bishop who made comparisons between images of Nazi death camps and abortion.

Bishop Joseph Devine was responding to the case of two Christian campaigners who held up banners of aborted foetuses at a Brighton clinic.

He said Holocaust images "brought home the horrors of such evil catastrophes" more effectively than words.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service described his views as "very warped".

Earlier this week a judge dismissed the case of two protesters arrested by police for displaying graphic banners outside Wiston Clinic in Brighton.

In a statement responding to the decision to drop their case, the Bishop of Motherwell said British Christians had "something to celebrate".

"All who value freedom of speech and expression will welcome the dismissal of this case by the courts," he said.

He went on: "I have no doubt that the publication of the photographs of the victims of Auschwitz and the Burma Railway brought home the horrors of such evil catastrophes far more effectively than a million pleading words. 200,000 abortions take place in Britain each year.

"Why is the pro-choice lobby so desperate to hide the truth about abortion from the public?"

I think it is a pretty damn good comparison- and one case where using the term “Nazi” against someone is fundamentally accurate

What would you call someone who pulls a living healthy baby halfway out of a womb, stops, and [because it is still technically half inside and not ‘born’ yet] sticks a suction tube in its brain and kills it.

4 more inches, and the baby would be born alive- how is the “health of the mother” improved by killing the baby and then pulling it out, rather than just pulling it out alive.

Joseph Mengele Obama’s favorite way to murder a child is what I would call it.

Didn’t he escape to Argentina or Chile and open an abortion business? I agree that the method described would likely be his personal favorite although he more than likely made more money doing the old school D&C earlier in pregnancy.

The industrial scale taking of innocent human life, in ways too horrible to think about. The comparison is spot on. Which why it makes the pro-abortion people and their allies in the media so angry. The truth hurts.

This reminds me of a true story Father Rutler told. An exhibit featuring pictures of skeletal remains of Nazi death camps was set up in a mall. As the people perused the pictures, they would say things like: “It is good to show pictures this so that nothing like this will ever happen again.” And then people would go to the other side of the exhibit and see pictures of aborted babies and then start yelling: “This is outrageous! How dare this be shown in public!” And then Father Rutler quoted T.S. Eliot and I paraphrase: Every generation knows the sins of the previous generation but can’t stand it when its own are pointed out.

I find it amazing — they don’t mind performing abortions, having abortions, promoting abortions, having the government pay for abortions. None of that is horrifying. They just don’t want to SEE an abortion or the results of an abortion. They find THAT horrifying!
