Perez befriended various families at the church, enlisted children to help with church services, and eventually began to invite the victims over to his apartment, sometimes for sleepovers, prosecutors said.

The pastor was was found guilty in July on 22 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, four felony counts of lewd acts on a child and sentencing enhancement allegations for lewd acts against multiple victims.

What’s the purpose of posting this, Chronos? “Protestants Do It Too”? Is that your point?

It happens and it’s terrible — all of these pastors whether catholic or not are horrible scum for betraying the trust placed in them.

This wasn’t Catholic or Protestant - this was an Episcopagan. They aren’t even Christians anymore.

According to the OC Weekly:
He billed himself as the top holy man at Spanish-language Iglesia Antigua Católica, which rented space from St. George's Episcopal Parish in Laguna Hills and is not affiliated with Orange County's Roman Catholic Diocese.
In an earlier piece in the OC Weekly, we learned that
Iglesia Antigua Católica, a Spanish language church that is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange, rented space at St. George's Parish, an Episcopalian church in Laguna Hills. Iglesia Antigua Católica is part of the Old Catholic Church movement formed in the 1800s by Roman Catholics who broke away over papal infallibility. Today's Old Catholic Church is in full communion with the Anglican Communion.

What does it matter to you?

The TRUTH should be told: molestation isn't an exclusive problem of one church or another.

You're reaction proves the point why.

No, not Episcopalian but he did use their facilities. He doesn’t appear to be affiliated.

“I’ve said all along this happens in all churches.”

Of course it does. Now, how many times did this guy’s church cover up the scandals and send him off to a new parish without warning anyone about him? That happens in all churches too, right?

Actually the rented place was in an Episcopalian Church.

>>I’ve said all along this happens in all churches.<<

and you've said correctly. I just can't stand it when folks attack each others church/denomination.

satan attacks the church from within. This demoralizes the faithful, turns them away from God and inhibits the work of Christ's church worldwide.

This evil manifest itself EVERYWHERE!

What is interesting to me is that these guys whichever religious group they belong to still do it knowing they will be caught. It doesn’t make sense. If I was a conspiracy theorist I’d think it was an infiltration of gays in the 60s and 70s that led to this fallout now.

“about your pedophile problem.” -> now, now, NT — you’re not supposed to make it personal. NJ doesn’t have this problem, do you?
