Pray for our American Heroes and Nation
9/26/12 | Hiskid

TOPICS: Prayer
KEYWORDS: military; pray; prayer
Our Heavenly Father, hallowed be thy name. Hallowed be Your Word. It is our stronghold and our firm foundation. We place our whole trust in what You say to and about us and choose not to believe what we see with our natural senses when it contradicts what You say. This is our commitment. Help us, Holy Spirit to keep it.

As we think today about our beloved American troops, we remember Your promise and thank You on their behalf for being the God that is with them, is their deliverer, watches over them and listens to them (and us). Surely if God be for them, who can be against them? Hallelujah and bless You, God Almighty to fulfill Your Word.

We pray for our Nation today. Because Your Word is Supreme, we boldly ask You for leaders who are servants. From Philippians 2, we ask that they would fulfill these directives:

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men” 3”Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

For Your body, we continue to pray from Phil. 2: Help us to do all things without complaining and disputing, that we may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world,

Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it. (Is. 45:8)

Let our coming elections be a glory unto You as things are done decently and in order with a just balance and clear wisdom for our people.

Thank You, Lord of the Breakthrough. We give You honor in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Capture The Moment

September 26, 2012

My wife, Martie, is a great shopper. When she shops for groceries, she reads all the nutrition labels and considers the best deal by looking at the price per unit. But her best trick is looking for the “use by” date. She doesn’t just grab the first gallon of milk she sees, but rather she goes for the gallon with the latest “use by” date so she can bring home the freshest milk from the store.

In a sense, our lives are marked by “use by” dates—except that none of us knows the exact date when our heart will expire or we’ll take our last breath on this planet. Given that reality, shouldn’t we try a little harder to capture the moments we’ve been given? Capturing the moment means that we’ll do things like love more deeply, forgive more quickly, listen more carefully, and speak more affirmingly.

Paul gives this good advice: “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15-16). He also instructs us to “walk as children of light . . . finding out what is acceptable to the Lord” (vv.8-10).

Since none of us knows our “use by” date, we should capture the opportunities to brighten our world with the love of Christ today!

Lord, grant me grace throughout this day
To walk the straight and narrow way,
To do whatever in Thy sight
Is good and perfect, just and right. —Huisman
Live each day as if it’s your last.

Read: Ephesians 5:8-21

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time. —Ephesians 5:15-16

Praying throughout the day, especially with Iran announcing a missile test launch towards our ships.

Also, Please pray for 12 year old Abigale Lefevers who was abducted in NC on Monday by a sexual predator who lived with her father. Her mom died a while ago. They think she’s in SC.

Thanks.

Grrr. This really makes you yearn for “the end of the age”, but we will exercise our rights as children of the Most High!

Father, we are here as Your anointed servants, praying Your will for Abigale Lefevers. Satan, we take authority over you and command you to release this child! Set her free in the name of Jesus! Angels, we give you charge concerning her. Bring her back safely and into a safe environment.

Father we ask You for physical and emotional healing for little Abigale and for a loving home in which she can grow to maturity. Let this be a home where Jesus is Lord and she can be brought up in the nurture and admonition of You.

Thank You for Your grace, Your goodness and Your wonderful love for Abigale. You are her protector, Shepherd and healer and for this we thank You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank you for praying.

I pray that God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding would garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen. (Phil.4:6-8)

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON
THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these brave men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
