The Connellsville Area School District in Pennsylvania was sued this week in U.S. District Court for refusing to remove a monument to the Ten Commandments that has stood for more than 50 years on the grounds of its junior high school.
That follows a similar federal lawsuit against the New Kensington-Arnold School District in Pennsylvania, which was filed two weeks ago, and which objects to display of the Ten Commandments in front of one of the districts high schools.
Both legal actions were initiated by the so-called Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist hate group based in Madison, Wisconsin. It is using the courts to wage an unholy war not so much against religion, but against Christianity, the target of 99.9 percent of its litigation.
If FFRF was a legal advocacy group, which bore no animus toward Christ followers, but simply wanted the courts to maintain the proverbial wall of separation between church and state, I would still disagree with group, but I would not accuse it of nefarious motives.
But the atheists at FFRF truly are haters, as evidenced by their virtual billboard campaign, featuring the godless testimony of out of the closet atheists.
The bible is nothing but a bunch of bull crap, sneers atheist Eugene T. Bernascone, in one such billboard. If you believe anything it says, I can get you a fantastic deal on the Eiffel Tower. By the way, its also good when you run out of toilet paper.
Now, imagine if this gentleman said such a thing about the Koran. He might set off riots in the Muslim World. He might even be denounced by President Obama in the well off the United Nations.
But because his hate speech is directed at Christians, he gets a free pass. And his atheist cohorts at FFRF follow up his verbal assault on Christians (and others like it) with legal attacks against easy targets like the Connellsville and New Kensington-Arnold school districts.
What infuriates is that the courts allow the atheist haters to get away with their unholy war against the Christian faithful, lawsuit by lawsuit. That includes the U.S. Supreme Court, which has had a supposed conservative majority since Ronald Reagan was in the White House.
Indeed, just last year, the nations highest court declined an opportunity to revisit a case examining whether displays of the Ten Commandments in two county courthouses in Kentucky were an unconstitutional endorsement of religion.
In 2005, the Supreme Court ruled that the displays were indeed unconstitutional.
However, since then, the counties have included the Ten Commandments as part of a broader presentation of historic documents, including the Mayflower Compact and the Declaration of Independence.
That the High Court last year left in place its 2005 ruling against the Ten Commandments doesnt bode well for the Connellsville and New Kensington-Arnold school districts. The lower courts almost certainly will side with the atheists, declaring that Gods law has no place in schools or other public buildings.
The roots of atheism are always moral not intellectual.
It’s entirely constitutional because it’s at the local level.
I’d ask if these people are stupid or can’t read, but I know it’s willful ignorance of the First Amendment.
(Don't want to give them any ideas!)
If Anger is a function of fear, what makes atheists so angry?
“Hate group,” “haters.” I have often wondered how these terms are defined. According to this article, anyone or group you oppose is a hate group or a hater. That seems rather broad to me.
The bible is nothing but a bunch of bull crap, sneers atheist Eugene T. Bernascone, in one such billboard. If you believe anything it says, I can get you a fantastic deal on the Eiffel Tower. By the way, its also good when you run out of toilet paper.
Does this not sound like hatred?
Freedom from religion is not a right, it’s a preference. Not that it’s against the law to be an atheist but sometimes they get the wrong idea. The public presence of a theology or theologies is about as threatening to the well-being of the American people as having the Bookmobile come to town.
Militant atheism is in fact a hate group. These people are Christophobic, and it is no different from racism. Notice these people never have a problem with Budhism or Islam or even Hinduism. No, their only problem is with Christianity. Their speech is hate speech as much as racist speech is hate speech and it needs to be labeled as such.
Choose wisely grasshopper.

I've never understood the reaction of some of my "fellow" unbelievers to Christianity. It seems fairly easy to draw a distinction between those religions which don't want to cause me harm for being an agnostic (Christianity, Buddhism, etc.) and those which want to cut my head off (Islam).
A discussion on the subject of religion between myself and a Christian will normally result in polite disagreement, with the occasional fire-breathing variety of the latter concluding, "You're going to burn in Hell, sinner!" as they smugly walk away...but that's it. No physical threats whatsoever...just predictions about an afterlife in which I have no belief.
Whereas the one time I "got into it" online with a Muslim, he ended the conversation by asserting that I and anyone else who thought like me should (and soon would be) executed. I pointed out to him that while it's true that I'm a godless infidel, I'm a very well-armed godless infidel.
All cultures aren't equal. Some are civilized, and some....aren't.
Damn it they are not atheist group. They are anti-theist group. They primary interest is not to sit around and not believe in God. Their primary interest is suppressing Christianity.
The Faternal Order of Eagles gave the school the ten commandents back I believe in the 50’s....after this athiest group told them to remove it or be sued, they decided to give it to a church beside the school...the church agreed to take it, and even put a light on it at night....now this athiest group is having a sh*t fit because the students will still be able to see it...
good question, they surrounded Christ, He did not hate back, but forgave them.
That’ll change if 0bummer gets another 4yrs, and 1-2 more liberal, marxist-leftist SCOTUS appointees.
My, what a highly original speech maker. A few expletives and the democrats could run him for national office.
Is there some way this anti-theist group could be advertised as anti-Islam, so the Islamists could “take care of them?” They are cowards.
