The group of Evangelical and Catholic faith leaders plans a press conference in Boca Raton, Fla., where the third and last 2012 presidential debate is scheduled to take place Monday night.

In an announcement about the event, organizers describe President Obama as someone who has backed measures and policies that run counter to conservative views on marriage and abortion....

You should hear our local Priest. He is not afraid to tell you where he stands. One person told him that he had no right to tell people who to vote for in his Priest collar on church property. He took is collar off and stepped into the road and said “Vote for Mitt Romney like your life depended on it.” People were a little in shock but many clapped. He wished everyone a good evening and went back into the church. Nobody has ever seen this man so upset or angry!

I love it, too!

However... I've been saying this for decades: We also need an entertaining Latino Rush Limbaugh-type talk radio conservative, and a Latino Fox News...

Too many Catholics act like movie Mafia types:they want to have Church weddings and funerals yet ignore all the messages about proper behavior ,not sinning, and in general, treat the faith as a social club.

I think that can be said of member of a lot of religions and churches, it’s not isolated to just Catholics.

Good for him. God bless him, unlike some that were on this site on other threads tonight, he understands that if Obamer is re-elected, that freedom of religion is over.

You're right. There are many conservative Latinos, but they see a lot of their leaders on the Democratic side, led there by falsely spread fear of Republicans.

Great story!

We have a wonderful bishop - who is Cuban, incidentally - who is very forthright and enumerated the positions expressed in the platform of “one of the candidates” (hah - wonder which one?) and told us from the pulpit that Catholics could not legitimately vote for anyone who held these positions. He then sent out an excellent mailing to everybody in the diocese.

Unfortunately, we have a pastor who somehow “neglected” to read the bishop’s pro-life letter a couple of weeks ago, even though all the clergy were ordered to read it from the pulpit, and then gave a Catholic voter guide session where he ended up saying that if you felt other “common good” issues supported by a candidate (such as increased welfare benefits) outweighed the moral teachings of the Catholic Church, it was fine to vote for that candidate.

I wish we had your priest!
