Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for Jesus, the Word, who is made unto us wisdom, righteousness and sanctification. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him and You have made us rich by revealing His Lordship to us. For eternity, we will praise You!

It is because of this revelation that you have put an urgency in our hearts to have more people understand the fear of You. This is why we are here to pray today.

Father, let the fear of You fall on our United States military men and women and our citizenry. In agreement with Your Word and Your Spirit, we cry out for salvations! Spirit, convict us of righteousness and enlighten the eyes of our understanding. Jesus, send laborers into the harvest and let Your Word have free course among us.

We put you in remembrance of Your Word and thank You for watching over it to perform it.

Let fall in showers, you heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness [the pure, spiritual, heaven-born possibilities that have their foundation in the holy being of God]; let the earth open, and let them [skies and earth] sprout forth salvation, and let righteousness germinate and spring up [as plants do] together; I the Lord have created it. (Is. 45:8)

Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil—To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence! (Isaiah 64:1,2)

Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth. (Hosea 6:3)

Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. (Jer. 5:24)

We bless You today and thank You for protecting our military and sending each one home with the knowledge of You. We pray in Jesus’ name because of His blood. Amen.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
