Maybe someone should start a prayer chain on FR, petitioning God Almighty to hear our prayers and keep it out to sea.

Your post brought to mind these words from God Bless Our Native Land:
God bless our native land
Firm may she ever stand
Through storm and night;
When the wild tempest rave,
Ruler of wind and wave,
Do Thou our country save
By Thy great might.

So, here goes: Many of us are praying for the upcoming election. Let us also take time to pray for those who may be endangered by Hurricane Sandy.
As with the election, it is "both/and," meaning we should prepare wisely and work hard while also praying hard.

JESUS CALMS THE SEA: Matthew 8:23-27
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, Lord, save us! Were going to drown!
26 He replied, You of little faith, why are you so afraid? Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!
Prayers for a lot of fizzlin’ and a lot of planning..
You Easterners batten down the hatches! We’ll be watching and praying!
In the meantime, don’t buy into the idea this is being exaggerated by the LSM. This time around I don’t think so and that is NOT the way to plan.
Talked with my son in central Ohio this am, they are ready and expecting 10-14 inches of snow. He mentioned Kentucky is expecting 2ft of snow. Stay safe out there everybody.
Prayers for all of you Republican voters. Get your vote in early if you can.
The dims won’t bother to come out — sort of their pattern in life.
