Lowery: Don't think whites going to heaven
Two icons of the civil rights movement visited Forsyth on Saturday to campaign for the reelection of Barack Obama. Andrew Young and Rev. Dr. James Lowery spoke at St. James Baptist Church as part of a Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) tour across Georgia to encourage black voters to cast ballots for Obama.
Lowery, who turned 91 on Oct. 6, founded the SCLC along with Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1957 and has been a national leader and the recipient of many honors since that time. Numerous celebrities praised him at a celebration of his 90th birthday at Atlanta Symphony Hall last year.
Lowery gave the benediction at Obama's inauguration as 44th U.S. president on Jan. 20, 2009. Speaking to the group at St. James Baptist, Lowery said he liked giving the benediction because it gave him the last word. The only thing that followed him on the program was the "Star Spangled Banner." He said it was the first time in his life he enjoyed the national anthem; he said the anthem is too militaristic. He said he would like to see the national anthem changed to 'Lift Every Voice," which is known as the 'Negro National Anthem,' or to "America the Beautiful."
Obama bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian award, on Lowery on July 30, 2009.
Andrew Young, 80, entered political life as U.S. congressman from Georgia's 5th district in 1973. He resigned that position to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations from 1977-79. He was then elected and re-elected Atlanta's mayor and served from 1982-90, the maximum term allowed by law. He was instrumental in bringing the 1996 Olympics to Atlanta and continues to work as a political activist.

If it is that he believes most white folk prefer to support other white folk, his hatred hardly supports the implied claim of his "Christian Ministry." The Bible clearly supports honoring one's genealogy, honoring the multi-generational pursuits of one's family or community. Look at all the genealogical tables in both the Old & New Testaments. Consider the meaning of the Fifth Commandment's coupling of longevity in the land with honoring one's parentage.
Rev. Lowery is trying to make ugly, what is the normal attitude of responsible family members. In this he not only harasses white folk, he misleads others into not appreciating that all human progress involves multi-generational pursuits. His message is every bit as poisonous to Blacks as it is to Whites.

Contrast Rev. Lowery's pro-Obama message of pure hate, with Booker T. Washington's Appeal To Friendship Between The Races. That contrast says a great deal about where we have come to.

Does Lowery consider the possibility of Hell for himself for aiding the Pro-Abortionist Barack Obama who with his two Supreme Court appointments has made it certain that multiple hundreds of black children will continue to be aborted in this country every day?
