God Uses Your Voice
11-23-12 | Frank Broom

God has made it that your voice plays a major role in your life. To understand how we have to go all the way back to the beginning when God made man. In Genesis 2:7 it says that God breathed the breathe of life into man. God put a part of himself into that physical body. Notice in Genesis 1:26 God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." What is God's image and likeness, well up to that point all we see of God is that God said and it was so. In the beginning the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, but he did nothing until the voice of God spoke out "Let there be light" and there was light. I became interested in this when one day I was reading about Isaac blessing Jacob and the spirit quickened my spirit to something and it's all throughout the Bible. In Genesis 27 in the account of Isaac blesssing Jacob there was two scriptures he brought my attention to. In verse 22 Isaac said, "The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau." The voice represents authority and the hands represents power. And notice in verse 30 it says, "And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from hunting." Jacob(the voice) and Esau(the power) so when the voice goes out the power comes in.

All throughout the scriptures great things were done when a man spoke what God gave him authority to speak. And when he spoke what he had the authority to speak great power came into their situations. Let's look at some of them, Joshua while he and the children of Isreal where in battle and needed more time to fight prayed and then spoke, "Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon." And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies (Joshua 10:12,13). How about David when he went up against Goliath and he said, "This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Isreal"(1Samual 17:46). And in the power of the Lord that's just what he did. How about Elijah when he said, "As the Lord God of Isreal liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word" and it didn't rain upon the earth for three years and six months (1Kings 17:1 & James 5:17). How about in Acts 3 when the lame man was laid at the gate of the temple and Peter and John was going to the temple and Peter said unto the man, "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." And he took the man by the hand and lifted him up and immediately his ankle bones were made strong. Notice what Peter said in verse 13, he said that God had done the healing, but that power did it at the voice of a man. A man that knew his authority, they could have walked right pass that man and went into the temple and service came out and walked pass him again and the power of God would not have done a thing for that man. How about Paul in Acts 13 when he was doing the work of the Lord and a sorcerer came against him and he said, "And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand", notice the voice and the power.

When you speak God's word right the power comes with it. The word puts the power of God into action just as it did in the beginning. Now the word has to come through you because you are the one with the dominion. That's why Acts 3:21 says, "Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began (or since He gave man dominion). So if you want the power of God to come into your situations you are going to have to speak. So the question in any circumstance of life is what can you believe God for. And whatever you can believe God for be sure to speak it out of your mouth. Like the centurion in Matthew 8 when he came to Jesus on behalf of his sick servant, Jesus was on his way to the centurions house when he said, "I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." And Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Isreal." And as a result of him speaking what he believed God for Jesus said, "Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee" and his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. Understand the role your voice has and bring the power of God into your situations.

Word of faith, prosperity gospel, name it and claim it, blab it and grab it, claptrap. Prayers of faith are not to be incantations, spells spoken to control and manipulate the divine. They are to be appeals to a sovereign God to work HIS will, not to force Him to mould Himself to the will of the speaker. What you speak of is no different than sorcery.

"When you speak God's word right the power comes with it."

Such a small sentence,such a big job.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The Bible also says: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26

But did you every notice that dogs and horse seem to be the only animals that understand that?

Your post is so very “right-on.” Frank has been a very vocal “voice” for the name-it-and-claim-it movement for a long time. I was hoping he might come to see the error of his theology; perhaps your post will help him to finally see the error of his system. I hope so.

Frank needs not merely a rebuke but also our prayers. Although if we believed as he does, we could try just announcing his correction and edification and then wait for it miraculously to occur.
