Please pray for my friend Joe. He has institutionalized unable to feed himself with Parkinson's disease. Joe was once a football player from the coal region of Pennsylvania. He was a HS football coach, neighbor and friend. My daughter was the baby sitter to his special child. His wife taught my children.
A few months ago at Church, he poked me in the back. I turned around, Joe remembered me but did not know me. He was being guided by his wife and was failing rapidly from this terrible disease.

PRAYER FOR HEALING OF PARKINSON’S DISEASE
THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF BLESSED JOHN PAUL II
When my legs are frozen in place,
May God the Father push me and remind me
To lift my toes up and swing my arms
That I may walk again and not be afraid.
When I feel like falling or as my posture stoops,
May Jesus Christ, God the Son, break my fall
And catch me as I move forward
With my legs braced and feet wide apart.
When my movement is slow and I hesitate,
May God the Holy Spirit enlighten my path,
Broaden my horizon and show me the way
That I will be more agile and graceful in my steps and bearing.
When my hands and feet are shaking, or my chin trembles,
And my voice weakens as I speak,
May Mother Mary embrace me to calm me and assure me
That everything will be okay and I can rest in her arms and wait
Until everything is still and steady and I am in peace
As my voice grows strong and clear.
Forgive me, God the Father, for all my sins
Heal me, God the Son, from my Parkinson’s disease
Bless me, God the Holy Spirit, with wisdom and knowledge
Love me, Mother Mary, so that I can love and serve others despite my PD.
Thank you, Lord, for answering our prayers.
We ask all these, through the intercession of Blessed John Paul II.

Sounds like your friend has Alzheimer’s disease. My great grandfather had Parkinsons disease. His body didn’t work but his mind was sharp.

Horrible disease. My aunt has it in its most advanced stage. Prayers for Joe and his family.
O Lord our God, Who by word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to this Your servant Joseph and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved; lift him up from his bed of pain, and send down upon him Your great mercy, and if it be Your Will, give to him health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to Father, and to Son, and to Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Parkinson’s is one of those cruel disease’s...they have made a little headway in treating it. I pray they will find a cure or effective treatment soon for your friend Joe.

“My Dad had Parkinson’s and lived his remaining years in a hospital bed, unable to move. You could see in his eyes his mind was still sharp and could recognize things. I agree with cripplecreek: It sounds like Alzheimer’s.”
Just to let you know, dementia occurs in up to 75% of patients with Parkinson’s.

Ex-snook, I am praying sincerely for your good friend, Joe; that our Lord and His ministering angels will stay by his side, protecting and comforting him, his loved ones and his friends in the times ahead.
I believe, one day, all the darkened windows and doors of Joe’s life will be thrown wide open, and Jesus will lead him out into the clean, fresh air of heaven where nothing hinders and everything is crystal clear and shining bright. May Joe rest in the light of His love, and may God bless.
