Despite ‘War on Catholics,’ Faculty and Staff at Catholic Universities Gave Overwhelmingly to Obama

About ninety percent of faculty and administrators from America’s top Catholic universities who contributed to presidential campaigns in 2012 gave to President Obama, a Campus Reform investigation has revealed.

The strong support for President Obama from Catholic schools came despite Democrats’ controversial health care legislation which could force employers to provide contraception for employees even though it is explicitly forbidden under Catholic doctrine.

A Campus Reform investigation revealed that faculty and staff at Catholic universities gave overwhelmingly to President Obama's reelection campaign.

The findings, based on official Federal Election Commission data made available by the government transparency site OpenSecrets.org, revealed that employees of the top 23 Catholic schools contributed $449,229 to President Obama while giving just $70,304 to Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

Of the 826 individuals who donated over $200 to the two major candidates, 748 gave to President Obama’s campaign while 78 contributed to Romney.

Campus Reform sought comment from all 23 universities, but received no replies at the time of publication.

Leaders from prominent Catholics pro-life organizations expressed outrage on Monday, citing the study as further evidence that Catholic universities of higher education have strayed far from Church doctrine.

Father Frank Pavone who is the national director of the Catholic pro-life organizations Priests for Life told Campus Reform on Monday that his organization experiences more hostility to pro-life doctrine on Catholic campuses than on secular campuses.

The Pope is correct. The greatest danger to the Church comes from within.

I personally know of some Religious, choir directors, CCD instructors, etc. who mysteriously had Obama bumper stickers appear on their cars AFTER the election.

The Church in Europe got rolled for the same reasons.
Obama knew this and so he threw in his lot with the Sandra Flukes of the world (which appears to have gained the margin of victory for him)

I don't know if it always was, but it seems all collapse ... and especially that of righteousness ... comes from within.

And if I contermplate further on that concept ... there is no way of stopping that momentum.

Families can develope a psychology that is passed down from generation to generation, but it all eventually folds from within (Kennedy's, etc.)

Become born again and the fear of and from collapse subsides somewhat.

I agree with the main thesis, which is that most Catholic colleges have long since gone to hell. When was Land 'o' Lakes, 1967? "Long since" was a long, long time ago.

However, as Campion said on a previous thread:

Somewhat misleading. For example, it trumpets that "100% of contributions" at the University of Dallas (known to be an orthodox, solid Catholic college) went to Obama.

When you read the fine print, you discover that this was ONE person, who gave a whopping $150. Big deal!

What's even stranger is that they list "Thomas Aquinas College" as "100% for Obama" ... and then in the breakdown, they list *zero* donors for Obama, and *zero* donors for Romney.

That would be because they are not actually Catholic.

For years, most Catholic Universities have not supported Catholic Doctrine. These institutions should either become secular or close. They are no longer Christian. And at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, the student newspaper endorsed Obama. Our youth are being indoctrinated by their educators. Sadly, the believing Christians are often too busy with other stuff to notice. I hope they wake up.

...just in case anyone thought the liberal infiltration and usurpation of Catholicism was just within the priesthood.

“Our youth are being indoctrinated by their educators”

And yet caring parents continue to send their children to these dens of inequity...and feel good about it, believing their darlings won't be the ones corrupted. Perhaps a few escape, but most don't. Very sad. The nation worships the ivy league colleges, those very colleges that are sawing away the pillars of our republic form of government and pouring socialism into the heads of the students.

That’s why there is a war on Catholics. People are aware of their hypocrisy.
