Healing Priest Fr. Suarez reaches out to Fil-Ams

LOS ANGELES – Renowned Filipino healing priest Fr. Fernando Suarez recently reached out to Catholics in Los Angeles -- Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike. Although he made a few stops in some other places in the west coast, one of the notable events in his 2012 ministry was his Dec. 5 healing mass at the St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Reseda.

In an exclusive interview with Asian Journal, Fr. Suarez admitted that the reception of the people to his ministry has been very overwhelming.

“I think you can attest to that because there are so many people everywhere I go. The church is packed,” he said.

In fact, most people arrive at the venues of his healing masses 2-3 hours before the actual event, just to get a seat.

“That in itself is an attestation of the reception of the people, especially our kababayans,” Fr. Suarez noted.

According to the healing priest, his ministry in the US covers most of the entire calendar year.

In early summer, Fr. Suarez conducts his ministry in the midwest. Come summertime, he swings back to the east coast and then heads back to the west coast in December (to round up his healing work), before flying back to Manila.

Fr. Suarez, who has been doing his work for about 10 years, said that in each year that he comes to the US, the number of people that follow him in his healing ministry never diminishes -- instead, it is constantly increasing.

“The impact is the same everywhere because I’m bringing Jesus,” he explains.

“And everybody needs healing. And somehow, those who attend the healing mass are not only those who are ill. For example, the whole family will come when one member of the family is sick. Not all members of the family have........
