Yet I read elsewhere this mmorning that Hillary Clinton placed the star on top of the national Christmas tree only once in 8 years because she was afraid.

It had nothing to do with fear of heights. It had to do with the fact that she objected to the star ornament. It was not red and did not have a hammer and sickle on it.
