A Rood Awakening ^ | December 21, 2012 | Michael Rood

Posted on 12/23/2012 9:54:04 AM PST by Errant

At approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes into the broadcast, Michael’s lovely wife Judith attempts to read from Michael’s Chronological Gospels as Michael continuously interrupts to explain.

It all makes for both an entertaining and enlightening broadcast for those interested in learning everything they can about the roots of Christianity.

He lives up to his name. How did that financial scandal deal work out with him?

Don't know what the outcome was; don't care. I'm sure there are/were faults on both sides. I'm interested in knowing what he knows about the scriptures, and that is a lot!

This is nothing more than a shill for a MESSIANIC "JEW". He is not a Jew. He is some sort of questionably-ordained Christian "minister" who is out to ensnare real Jews into believing that you can be Jewish and have JC in your life as well. These Messianic "Jewish" groups are all targeted to proselytize Jews and con them into conversion.

Authentic Jews, born of a Jewish mother or converted by an Orthodox rabbi, do not believe in JC. He has no place whatsoever in a Jewish life. NONE.

Anyone coming along, no matter how glitzy a come-on they may have, and saying that JC is a legitimate part of Judaism is a MESSIANIC "JEW". A fake.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s right about a lot of things. It’s mostly a re-hash of H.W. Armstrong who knew a lot also. I just don’t put no man, preacher or pope on a pedestal.

The Apostles and converts were Messianic Jews as well. I don’t think that’s too bad of a crowd to hang with myself. YMMV

If you only knew what the Torah commentaries say about that!

Believe me, if anyone would come up to me and try to forcibly tell me all about how I can believe in JC AND be a Jew, I would turn 180 degrees in the opposite direction and walk away. If they tried to pursue me, I'd happily take them down and stomp them. If they want to believe in that stuff, fine. Don't try to force it on me. I won't play nice.

That's good to hear and neither do I. Otherwise, we'd be waiting for the second coming for someone perfect. Like most though, I filter those who I will listen to but I try to examine the message instead of the messenger.

That said, I have a lot of respect for Michael Rood. He, like all of us, has his faults, both present and past. There is much I don't agree with him on. However, I respect him for what he has overcome, the fact he is continuously evolving (aren’t we all), and especially for his current knowledge of the scriptures.

Please show me where his is making that claim. I think you have it wrong as he often speaks of Rabbinical Judaism as being man-made law on top of what Moses taught.

Thanks but the page wouldn't load for me. I'm pretty sure of the content, to which I offer:

From the Torah, "Deuteronomy 18:15, “For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.’”"

It's up to us to examine ALL of the evidence; the decision of what to believe is for the individual.

Don't hold your breath waiting on someone trying to forcibly convert you to Christianity. However if you go to Muslim country . . . all bets are off.

mmm...

Les read the verses subsequent to the one you cite (even though Rood, not a Jew, can’t be a “brother”):

20. But the prophet who intentionally speaks a word in My name, which I did not command him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

21. Now if you say to yourself, “How will we know the word that the Lord did not speak?”

22. If the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not occur and does not come about, that is the thing the Lord did not speak. The prophet has spoken it wantonly; you shall not be afraid of him.

And what else do we know about what should happen to false prophets, hmm?

Good points you've made, but I offer:

Matthew 12:38-40 (NIV)

38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” 39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Would not it be impossible to fulfill this prophecy and indeed many others without his sacrifice? To which your theory that his physical death indicates he was a false prophet can not logically be applied.

Only relevant if one accepts a priori the claims of the New Testament and the traditions of the Church about Jesus.

Deuteronomy 17

8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the Lord thy God shall choose;

9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the Lord shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

Deuteronomy 17

8 If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment...

I see not the need for a Levite priest (if I had one) in such a matter, where prophecy has been fulfilled down to the very day, the very hour, and moment prophesied; as was the ministry and resurrection of Yeshua Messiah.

Anyway, Deuteronomy 18:15, “For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.’” supersedes.

I am perfectly content being a born AND practicing Jew. I am not shopping for a new religion or new elements to add to my religion. It is 100% complete as it is. So I leave it to YOU to examine the nefarious “evidence” offered by Mr. Rood cultist proselytizer fake-a-rooie. I wouldn’t spare a nanosecond to bother.

Bull-oney. Unless every single prophecy of the Messiah has been fulfilled (and they haven't), no dice. For real Jews, the Messiah hasn't yet come.

The point at which nascent Christianity ceased to attract Jewish followers was the point at which Christian arguments were written down and could be examined.

Until then, a clever speaker could weave endless tales and attract through charisma. Once there were authoritative letters circulating explaining rationales and proof texts, no one conversant with the authentic Torah tradition was interested.

Believers and contributors would have to be henceforth found among non-Jews who were susceptible to Greek idioms and philosophical methods.

It was true then and it’s still true now.

I believe it was last weekend when someone (of Jewish belief) enlightened me on how few Jews in Israel believe Yeshua to be the Messiah as foretold by the Hebrew prophets. The person didn't seem to know the approximate number.

Out of curiosity, I looked it up and found it to be quite low indeed. I doubled the number from the reported 10,000 in 2005 to 20,000 and still it's only about one third of one percent out of a population of roughly six million.

Being a western Christian/gentile, I was totally blown away by such a low number. Knowing that now, does help me better understand certain things/prophecy that have been hard for me to comprehend for some time now.

Peace FRiend,

It's too bad that much has been corrupted/hidden/altered/destroyed through the centuries by those seeking to promote their own doctrines (whatever the religion) instead of faithful to the true words of God.

That reminds me that last week I posted the SNL broadcast where Michael revealed that Nehemia Gordon (a Karaite Jew) has uncovered ancient Hebrew text with the correct genealogy of Yeshua.

To quote Glenn Beck, "The Truth Has No Agenda."
