Not only does this Passage Describes God as Our "Keeper", He is "The Shade on Our Right Hand". In Battle, most soldiers held their sword in their right hand. The desert sun could glint and glare off the sword and blind the soldier, making him defenseless. God is the "Shade on My Right Hand", to give clear vision for the battle ahead. He keeps us from distraction, obstruction, and obfuscation. This is a Wonderful Descriptive Name when understood in the context of ancient military tactics.

We Battle with Spiritual forces every day, so this is very relevant today!
