At the Angelus, Benedict XVI invites prayers for Week dedicated to Christian Unity (18-25 January). This year's theme, "What the Lord requires of us" (cf. I 6.6 to 8), was chosen and developed by an ecumenical group in India. On January 25, Vespers at St. Paul Outside the Walls, along with representatives of the Christian Churches. A prayer for peace for "an end to the massacres of unarmed civilians, to all violence, and to find the courage of dialogue and negotiation."
Vatican City (AsiaNews) - "One of the most serious sins that disfigures the face of the Church is its visible lack of unity, especially the historical divisions that have separated Christians and which have not yet been completely resolved." This is what Benedict XVI said in his reflection before the Angelus prayer with pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square. The Pope's words are due to the fact that for more than 100 years, 18 to 25 January, the Christian world celebrates the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, "a moment - explained the pope - always welcome by believers and communities, which awakens in all the desire and spiritual commitment to full communion".
Experts often say that the ecumenical momentum in Churches - especially non-Catholic ones- is fading. But Benedict XVI fondly remembers "the vigil I celebrated about a month ago, in this square, with thousands of young people from across Europe and the ecumenical community of Taizé: a moment of grace in which we experienced the beauty of being one in Christ. " The young people of Taizé in fact wanted to celebrate their European meeting at the end of 2012 in Rome.

I will add that Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, Eastern Orthodox, Charismatics, Pentecostals, Baptists, and Non-Denominationals face one common enemy.
The same one the Jewish People face.

At best we act as distrustful cousins. We complain about each other, but stand with the family when it is time to cash in the chips.
Maybe you should take that to heart and stop posting deliberately divisive articles.
Peter was the foundation of the Christian church. Emperor Constantine was the founder and first pope of the roman catholic church. There is no lineage between the two.
So posting articles reflective of the facts about the divides that clearly exist is in itself divisive? I don’t think so. If that were true, then we would have to say that posting articles about crime actually is crime. That makes no sense.

If your goal is unity amongst Christians that makes no sense.
Unity on the core doctrine, diversity on the peripheral issues. That’s healthy for the Body of Christ IMO.

Let the Pope put his own house in order and produce unity within the Catholic church according to Jesus’ criteria,

In your view. And again, recognizing that divisions exist should not be thought of as being divisive in itself. To liberals telling them the truth is divisive. Ever notice that?

I think his first goal is service to the Truth. Some people will always find that divisive.
Christ: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
The issue isn't historical divisions, it is lack of obedience to Christ's command for all Christians to love one another.

The pope’s lineage derives from the roman empire and not from Peter or Paul. It is a false belief that Peter is the first pope. Emperor Constantine adopted Christianity as the official religion of Rome. This is the origin of the Catholic religion. All customs that are followed since that time have root in the early roman pagan rituals. Deny history, deny the truth.

False. Such statements always inform me of when I am dealing with someone who has no idea what he is talking about. Poorly educated people - usually the product of government schools - often believe Constantine “adopted Christianity as the official religion of Rome.” They believe this because of the common ignorance called Protestantism. In reality Theodosius the Great - who was emperor 40 years after Constantine - made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. Most Protestants are too ignorant to know that fact. That fact also doesn’t support the bizarre common Protestant meme about Constantine being “pope” so it is not investigated. Protestants choose ignorance instead.
