On quick fires on the 155, I would remove one of the 220 pound spades, and take it to the hole and hold it while it was pinned, and I would do this by myself to free up an extra digger, it saved us valuable seconds.
Back then we were naive enough to think that a quick fire was to get some lead in the air to save a unit that was being overrun, to let the enemy know that the air was going to become deadly within seconds and to break their focus and confidence, to turn the tables, I guess today, mixed units are more important than that kind of thing.
I just can’t see females contributing to a quick fire, or even being able to perform it at all, in an acceptable length of time.
