News Item: Department of Justice says homeschooling is not a fundamental right.

Excuse me? Is this legal arm of our United States Government really taking the position that we don’t have the right to determine how we educate our own children? When it is the legal position of our federal government that parents have no fundamental right to educate their own children, then it is up to the people to rise up and put government back in its place.

The US Supreme Court settled this in 1926 — Pierce vs Society of Sisters. The court wrote that “the child is not the mere creature of the state.”

This current Clown-in-Chief and the rest of his circus think that a child has no right to a mother. What’s that supposed to mean?

Holder should just shut his ignorant mouth and crawl under a rock.

Parents better take responsibility for their own kids unless they want them indoctrinated by the Obamanation. I wish we’d homeschooled our son (47 now); but husband’s family was too wedged into the “education system” for us to ever be able to break free. - He was the perfect little liberal for a long time. Now, at least he’s intellectually honest enough to see the blatant truth about Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

Timely discussion indeed. Mrs. jimfree and I tomorrow are visiting faculty for my daughter’s home school group. Ann will be doing a Federal period history presentation and I will be follow her leading some period appropriate dances. This evening we baked some ginger nuts and shrewsbury cakes to serve after the dancing(instead of the standard lemon zest Ann flavored the s cakes with rosewater.)

Lisa schools 3 of hers with the fourth to begin K in a couple years. I am very proud of my little girl.
